DxDempsey Wins Green Practices SAGE Award

ON THE RED CARPET AT THE SAGE AWARDS

DxDempsey was delighted to receive the Green Practices Award, our second SAGE Award (Scranton Awards for Growth and Excellence).  In 2010, DxDempsey was recognized at the Chamber Gala as Small Business of the Year.

Green practices have been an integral part of DxDempsey from the start, with thoughtful, sustainable architecture always our priority.  We consciously try to introduce green materials and systems to the buildings and spaces we design and encourage our clients to be aware of the environmental solutions available to them.

RECEIVING THE AWARD

At DxDempsey, we believe that education is  essential to promote green practices. Not only do members of our staff speak to local groups and organizations on the topic of sustainability and get involved in events such as Earth Week, but a quick tour of our office provides a lesson in sustainability, too. From our EcoSurfaces flooring made from recycled tires to zero VOC paint, we were careful to consider environmental impact in every aspect of our office design and function.

Many of our daily routines also eflect an environmental mindset, making efforts to minimalize energy and water consumption.  Since our building does not recycle, we collect all our paper, glass and plastic products and take turns bringing them to the local recycling facility.

MONTHLY RECYCLING DAY

To further our commitment to sustainability, we have introduced our newest division which we call xForm. xForm encourages clients in both commercial and residential real estate markets to seek existing buildings that can be renovated and adapted to meet their needs.  By helping people see the potential in existing structures, we can reduce the need to build new, therefore decreasing urban sprawl and carbon footprints.
