Did You Know?

The world's most expensive Advent calendar has gone on sale in the world's favorite corner shop, Harrods. While most of us make do with a cardboard sheet concealing two dozen slightly melted chocolates, the posh peoples' version - worth a million dollars, apparently - features a speedboat, a Porsche Design gold watch, gold sunglasses, and a designer kitchen. Unfortunately, the calendar won't fit on many people's mantelpiece, which is no doubt the reason you won't be getting one. It stands around 1.75 metres high and is made of brushed aluminium - we're not sure whether you can put it in the recycling box when you're finished. |

Fun Facts
One Way Trip to Mars?
Two scientists suggested in the Journal of Cosmology that it is time for humans to start colonizing Mars. Humanity needs some intrepid explorers to "boldly go" on a one-way mission to the red planet in order to ensure the conservation of our species in the event of the catastrophic devastation of our blue planet. The risks would be high, and the likelihood of return to Mother Earth would be low to nil. But the way would be laid, promising a growing colony of humans on Mars.
We wondered, would you volunteer to leave Earth and join the first colonists to settle on another planet? CLICK to email us and let us know your thoughts! |

Paradiso opens in Las Vegas
Recently opened at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Paradiso is the newest retail environment in DxDempsey's portfolio. Click on our Facebook link below to see more photos. Paradiso's gently undulating ceiling with droplets of light forms a surrogate sky, evoking spaciousness and becoming a defining element of the space. The fixture organization and shelving areas fulfill the retailer's strategy of maximizing product display, yet details like the organic Corian mannequin stage wrapping a column isolate merchandise and highlight design elements. The Interlam panels used on the exterior and within the interior coves have a sculptural wave pattern that engenders softness and femininity. The white pallet with subtle accent colors provides a clean and crisp backdrop that highlights the merchandise. |
