MVI Marketing Ltd.'s Jewelry Consumer Opinion Council (JCOC) recently concluded 2012 Holiday Shopping Research Study shows a significant increase in consumers reporting that they will likely purchase jewelry for the upcoming holiday season.
The JCOC study was conducted from 28 September through 3 October 2012 and was completed by 1407 USA consumers.
Significant findings include:
- 38% of respondents to this research study plan to purchase jewelry as a gift this upcoming holiday season
- Those planning to purchase jewelry as a gift were twice as likely to indicate that they planned to purchase fine jewelry over costume jewelry this upcoming holiday season
- More than half of respondents plan to shop both online and in-store, indicating that consumers will research comparison and price shop different options before making a selection
- 52% of respondents who plan to purchase jewelry as a gift this upcoming holiday season, cited DISCOUNTS as likely to be very important to them this holiday season
- While brand name products were not significantly important to respondents, they were willing to select their preferences for brands they'd like to give and receive
