Earlier this year, in the January issue of Art21 News, we shared a little taste of the new project that has been in progress over the past year. Another brief glimpse appeared in the March issue. Come the June issue, viewers will be able to watch the first two episodes from the project. Until then, allow us to share one more sneak peek before the June premiere.

Be among the first to hear about the series premiere by subscribing to our "Special Announcements" email list (accessible from the "Update Profile/Email Address" link in the footer of this email) or by joining our community on Facebook and Twitter.

Also beginning this summer is the 2011-2012 year of our professional development initiative, Art21 Educators. In this issue, we introduce the first four of sixteen educators selected to participate in the program.

Finally, read on for two brand new Exclusive videos featuring Hiroshi Sugimoto and Paul McCarthy, as well as the latest posts from the Art21 Blog.

Art21 is thrilled to announce the new cohort of teachers who were accepted to be part of the Art21 Educators 2011-2012 program. Each participant applied with a partner to provide additional support and feedback, as well as opportunities for collaborative and interdisciplinary teaching during the upcoming school year.

Every Tuesday on the Art21 Blog, we will introduce a pair of educators who will be participating in the third year of this unique program. Take a moment to meet the first pair, Maureen Hergott and Julia CopperSmith, and second pair, Jack Watson and Holly Loranger.

Stay tuned to the Art21 Blog as we introduce and welcome the rest of the educators over the next six weeks.

Teaching with Contemporary Art Celebrates Three Years

Earlier this month, the Art21 Blog's first (and most-read) column, Teaching with Contemporary Art, celebrated three years of exploring the use of contemporary art in the classroom. To commemorate the occasion, columnist Joe Fusaro took a look back at some of his favorite moments of the last three years.

The Art21 Blog Party has come to a close, raising enough funds to support honorariums for four of our talented guest bloggers in the coming year. Thank you to all who helped us celebrate this special moment of the Art21 Blog's four-year anniversary.

The festivities continue: on May 23rd, Art21 will receive the George Foster Peabody Award for its feature film William Kentridge: Anything Is Possible. The Peabody Award is widely considered as the most prestigious in the realm of broadcast media and is determined through a single criterion--excellence. Amazingly, this is Art21's second Peabody Award--a feat rarely achieved and a great honor.

To celebrate this momentous event, the Art21 Board has developed a special Circle of Excellence, a group that generously supports Art21 for its accomplishments and achievements. This spring, we are combining Art21's Annual Appeal with the Circle of Excellence, and invite you to join this wonderful group.

We hope that you will join the Art21 Board and make a contribution of any amount to the Circle of Excellence to commemorate this exceptional achievement and provide essential support for Art21's continued quality programming. Thank you for your support!
