From the Executive Director: Hello and welcome to the Jung Center's inaugural e-newsletter! In my first month as the Executive Director I have seen first hand what a wonderful community this is. I am excited to share what has been happening here, and what we have coming in the near future. A most gratifying thing to report is what a great response we had to our first-ever email survey. I'd like to let you know about a few of the things we heard and learned from you, our community, and what we've done in response to what you've shared.
First of all, this very newsletter is being sent because quite a lot of you are interested in receiving more regular information about the Center and our programs. As well, many of you wanted more information about the Institute of Creative Aging, which you will find below. Lastly, an interest was shown for more social events and ticketed fundraising events, and we have combined those two into a celebration of Jung's birthday-more details are in the sidebar to the left.
I hope you find that this monthly e-newsletter helps you to stay connected to our community, and lets you know about the classes, programs and events in which you'd like to participate. In future newsletters, I will also try to use this space to inform you about the Jung Center more in-depth. As always, your feedback is welcome and appreciated!
Yours, Dr. Pat Cochran

The June Singer Memorial Lecture & Clinic Benefit Saturday June 14
June Singer was one of the founders of the original Jung club in the Chicago area, the precursor to our Jung Center. Given her importance to our community we named our sliding-scale psychotherapy clinic after her, and each year we hold a special lecture in her honor. This year we are pleased to have analyst and author Ashok Bedi, MD present "Path to the Soul." As a benefit to support the Clinic, acclaimed chef Usha Bedi will lead "Food for the Soul," a demonstration of Indian cooking. More information on both of these enlightening programs is available here

Tell Us What You Think!
Your feedback from the email survey in April was quite helpful to us, and we are endeavoring to get more of your opinions and preferences so that we can continue to grow in response to your needs and wishes.
Institute for Creative Aging: This is the part of our Center that is dedicated to the particular issues related to the second-half of life and the unique perspective that Jungian thought brings to those issues. We are planning lectures and film discussions for the upcoming academic year and would like to hear your ideas for topics, and very importantly, when (day, time, season) you would be available to attend these programs.
Courses on Jung's writings: We have heard from more than a few of you that reading Jung's own writings would be of interest. We'd like to know if people are interested in an ongoing course or classes on discreet topics. As well, we want to know when you would be available for such classes.
Please let us know your ideas and preferences: jung@cgjungcenter.org

Brian Carlson's Departure With mixed feelings I recently offered my resignation, and will be leaving the Jung Center on June 20th. The synchronistic current which brought me here now goes westward, and will deposit me 9,300 feet up in the San Juan Mountains in Silverton, Colorado. I am very grateful to have spent these two years among such kind and vibrant people, and I will always have very happy memories of this community. Please stop by to say hello/goodbye, and look me up (way up) if you're headed out west. Sturdy boots recommended!

Job Opportunity
The only silver lining to come out of the loss of our colleague Brian is that now we have a job opportunity, which possibly could be filled by a member of our community. If you have strong accountancy and IT skills (i.e. expertise with Quickbooks, spreadsheets, ap/ar, financial statements, network troubleshooting for both Mac and PC, web hosting, etc.) and would like more information, please call Brian at 847-475-4848 x242.
