Mission of C.S. Lewis Institute:
The C.S. Lewis Institute was founded in 1976 in the legacy of its namesake as an organization which endeavors to challenge, educate, and disciple those who will, like Lewis, articulate, defend, and live faith in Christ through personal and public life. The Institute's vision complements the work of the Church, equipping thoughtful believers to impact their sphere of influence for Jesus Christ. This discipleship of heart and mind takes place by means of teaching, readings, and mentoring.
Mission of C.S. Lewis Institute - Annapolis: The Mission of C.S. Lewis Institute - Annapolis is to extend the mission of the C.S. Lewis Institute to the Annapolis community, with a special passion for the students and faculty of Saint John's College and the U.S. Naval Academy. Ours is to disciple the people the Lord brings to us and connect them to each other so that they can lead the Church, the State, and the nations. Support for C.S. September was a busy and exciting month: A new group of 28 Fellows attended the Osprey Point Retreat on September 7&8; We launched two new Heart & Mind Discipleship classes with over 50 participants; We launched the St. John's College men's and women's weekly fellowships; And Dr. Ken Boa made his annual visit to Annapolis September 26-30 with the following events:
- Meeting with the Severn Leadership Group Wednesday evening (9/26);
- Area pastor's luncheon speaker Thursday noon (9/27);
- Speaker for annual Fellows Reunion Dinner Thursday evening (9/27);
- Breakfast with USNA Chaplains Friday morning (9/28);
- Seminar discussion with SJC students Friday afternoon (9/28);
- Dinner with participants in CSLI programs on Friday evening (9/28);
- Discussion with our sponsor midshipmen Saturday evening after Navy football game (9/29);
- Speaker at both morning services at Mid Atlantic Community Church (9/30)
October will continue to be active as we continue our Fellows programs, discipleship series and SJC fellowship meetings.
We are also planning the second joint SJC/USNA fellowship on October 13th (see Amy's writeup for more information.)
Lastly, we are digitizing the Heart & Mind Discipleship program so that we can offer this series through the web to anyone interested. CSLI is moving from a local discipleship focus to having the capability of providing "distance learning" to anyone interested in our content.

Amy's Collegiate News:
Exciting things are happening at St. John's! Our men and women's fellowships are continuing strong with good discussions each week. The Christian Fellowship meets for dinners every other Sunday to fellowship, talk about the week and encourage one another.
This past month the men's fellowship met on a Tuesday night to pray around the seal on the quad for St. John's. Two weeks ago, we had our first "night of prayer" in the boathouse. Students prayed for their campus, faculty, staff and each other. Just this past week there was the incredible opportunity for students to meet with Dr. Ken Boa as he led a two hour seminar on Pascal's Pensees, which prompted good discussion and deep questions.
This month we are looking forward to our first combined St. John's College - USNA event of the year. On Saturday, October 13th, there will be dinner, worship and a message from 6:00-8:00pm on the yard in the Laboon Center. The purpose of this event is to bring together the johnnies and the midshipmen in Christian fellowship in order to build relationships, grow in faith, and be encouraged to live out their faith on campus.
