Mission of C.S. Lewis Institute:
The C.S. Lewis Institute was founded in 1976 in the legacy of its namesake as an organization which endeavors to challenge, educate, and disciple those who will, like Lewis, articulate, defend, and live faith in Christ through personal and public life. The Institute's vision complements the work of the Church, equipping thoughtful believers to impact their sphere of influence for Jesus Christ. This discipleship of heart and mind takes place by means of teaching, readings, and mentoring.
Mission of C.S. Lewis Institute - Annapolis: The Mission of C.S. Lewis Institute - Annapolis is to extend the mission of the C.S. Lewis Institute to the Annapolis community, with a special passion for the students and faculty of Saint John's College and the U.S. Naval Academy. Ours is to disciple the people the Lord brings to us and connect them to each other so that they can lead the Church, the State, and the nations. Support for C.S. Dear friends of the Institute, Our new year is underway and the calendar of events is below. We have over 30 men and women committed to the Fellows Program for 2012-2013. There are 27 men and women registered for the 10 session Heart & Mind Discipleship Program. Over 30 "Johnnies" (students of St. John's College) are participating in men and women's fellowships. If you have interest in any of these events, you should email Jim Phillips. Our Fellows are kicking off their year with a retreat at Osprey Point this weekend (September 7, 8.) There are two Hearts & Minds discipleship courses to choose from. The course held at the Paca Gardens Conference Center is full, but there is still room in the course being held at Bay Area Community Church. There is always room for more Johnnies in our SJC fellowships. The men meet at 7:30pm on Tuesdays at the Aslan House (178 Prince George St.) The women meet at 2:30pm on Wednesdays for tea at the Aslan House. Fellows, you need to register to attend our second annual Fellows reunion dinner on September 27th, 7:00pm at the Sheraton in Annapolis. Contact Amy Yearwood to do this. Ken Boa will be visiting us again the last week of September. He will be meeting with Fellows, students, and USNA leadership during the week. If you are not a Fellow, you can hear Ken speak on Sunday, September 30th at 9:15am and 11:00am at the MACC (Mid Atlantic Community Church). To see their website, click here.
