Greetings! Greetings in the name of our God and Savior, Jesus Christ! On behalf of the facilitators of the C.S. Lewis Institute - Annapolis (George Anderson, John Bishop, Jim Hiskey, and Jim Phillips), I offer you this edition of the CSLI Annapolis Newsletter.
Mission of C.S. Lewis Institute:
The C.S. Lewis Institute was founded in 1976 in the legacy of its namesake as an organization which endeavors to challenge, educate, and disciple those who will, like Lewis, articulate, defend, and live faith in Christ through personal and public life. The Institute's vision complements the work of the Church, equipping thoughtful believers to impact their sphere of influence for Jesus Christ. This discipleship of heart and mind takes place by means of teaching, readings, and mentoring.
Mission of C.S. Lewis Institute - Annapolis: The Mission of C.S. Lewis Institute - Annapolis is to extend the mission of the C.S. Lewis Institute to the Annapolis community, with a special passion for the students and faculty of Saint John's College and the U.S. Naval Academy. Ours is to disciple the people the Lord brings to us and connect them to each other so that they can lead the Church, the State, and the nations. Support for C.S. Greetings!
Our St. John's College men's and women's fellowship groups have continued as usual this past month. The guys meet on Tuesday evenings at the Aslan House, and the girls for tea at 2:30 on Wednesdays. Our girls group is growing and in depth conversations are being started. There is an event currently in the works that will happen on March 31 at St. John's in McDowell Great Hall. It is a partnership between the Christian Fellowship from St. John's and the OCF (Officers Christian Fellowship) from the Naval Academy with the mission to bring together Christian midshipmen from the various CRAs and Johnnies for an evening of fellowship, worship and encouragement. The Institute will be sponsoring the Christian Fellowship by providing a speaker and food for the event. Please pray for this event and the students who will come! Please also pray for safety as St. John's students head out for a two week spring break this month.
Our men's and women's professional fellowships had their first meetings this past month, both of which have a full turn-out. The women's fellowship are meeting with Art Lindsley at the Aslan House once a month to study his book Love, The Ultimate Apologetic: The Heart of Christian Witness. The men's group met with Jim Phillips at the Wine Cellar for a discussion on Brother Lawrence's book Practicing the Presence.
We are now accepting applications for the 2012-2013 Year One Fellows Program. The goal of this program is the development of solid Biblical beliefs, spiritual depth and moral character in committed disciples of Jesus Christ who are actively engaged for Him in their spheres of influence. If you or someone you know is interested in learning more about the program or to apply online, please click here. To download the online application, click here.

Please pray for the men and women associated with the Institute and the lives they have been entrusted to touch. Our ministry in Annapolis is not about numbers, it is about touching the lives of the men and women God brings to us before they go out into His service.
Aslan is on the move!
Sincerely in Christ,
