Greetings!

Tradition tells us that November is a time for reflection and gratitude. Here at CAP, I'm thankful not only for the abundance of talented artists and arts administrators that call Tompkins County home, but also for the devoted collectors, audiences, and patrons of the arts that make our vibrant arts community possible. It's easy to sometimes take for granted the wealth of artistic opportunities we have in our little corner of the Finger Lakes, so I hope you'll join me this season in taking a moment to tell your favorite artist that he or she is appreciated and indispensable.

If you happen to also be thankful for CAP, there's more below on how you can become a Partner-in-the-Arts and ensure that we continue to create opportunities for the Arts, Artists, and Audiences of Tompkins County.

Enjoy your holiday,

Kim Schrag, "Inside Itself,"

the month of December

In the show titled Inside Itself, Kim Schrag will be showing 8 new, large scale, oil paintings in the CAP ArtSpace in December. The painted images explore the self, identity, perception, separation and the totality of Life.

In describing the inspiration and content for the show Kim explains: "Through the tools of dialogue and painting, I searched for the individual self and ended up finding the totality of Life. The individual self wants all the attention, grabs all of the credit, is a giant showoff. But if you push it aside, you notice that Life is underneath, sitting quietly, taking no credit, but responsible for everything, and will even give the self a little room to act."
