Greetings!

I'm happy to wish you all the best as we head toward a new year here at CAP. This year, we've seen our ranks grow dramatically, as more than 200 artists and arts organizations became member partners-in-the-arts. And dozens more took part in our growing workshop series.

Not since CAP's founding in 1990 have we seen such an outpouring of support for our services and programs. At a time when funding of the arts is in what seems like constant peril, it's been truly heartening to see the members of our arts community band together in this way.

So we finish 2010 with nothing but the sincerest thanks to all of you for helping us celebrate CAP's first two decades and encouraging us to look ahead to the next.

Cheers,

Brett Bossard, Executive Director

P.S. There's still time to add your name (or that of a loved one) to the 2010 list of Partners-in-the-Arts. CLICK HERE.

 .

The Community Arts Partnership of Tompkins County is one of only four locations in the state chosen by New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) to host their "MARK" professional development program for visual artists.

We have room in the program for 25 artists from Ithaca and the surrounding region.
All questions should go to Felicity at NYFA (below).

Application Deadline: Friday, January 14, 5pm

Do you feel like your art career needs some attention?

Apply to participate in MARK, the New York Foundation for the Arts' (NYFA) statewide program for visual artists seeking a unique opportunity for individualized focus on the professional and business side of their creative practice. MARK is designed to address the concerns of artists living outside of New York City while providing them with a new network statewide.

Presented over two weekends MARK'11 is a rigorous blend of formal classes, individualized training, networking and group interaction. Participating artists can expect MARK to spark goals and help to define concrete steps while providing individual and group feedback. Cultural Data ProjectUpcoming Webinars for the New York State Cultural Data Project

A reminder to ALL arts organizations that receive funding directly from the New York State Council on the Arts (not DEC or GAP receipients):

NYSCA will be requiring your organization to file a funder report from the New York State Cultural Data Project to be eligible for the coming year's rounds of grants.

But DON'T PANIC: The forms are simple, especially if you already have an annual audit completed for your organization. The customer & technical service is also excellent. New User Orientations take place on the first Wednesday of every month.

Sorry We Missed You!
Sadly, we have to end the year with an apology.

Due to a scheduling SNAFU, there was no CAP staff on hand to open the doors for the Monthly Artist Forum and Social that was to take place on Monday, December 20th.

It's especially regrettable because the artist currently featured in the CAP ArtSpace, Alice Muhlback, was supposed to spend the first part of the evening sharing insights about her work and her process.

Robin and Brett offer sincere apologies to Alice and all those who stood in the cold, staring into a darkened ArtSpace.

We hope to reschedule an opportunity for Alice to share her wisdom some time in the New Year.

In the meantime, we're SO sorry we missed you!
