WEST END WATERFRONT RHINER FESTIVAL
The Rhiner Festival is seeking artists and craft vendors to participate in the 2nd Annual celebration of the rich and fascinating history of the area once referred to as 'the Rhine,' 'the Flats,' or even 'Sodom.'  The festival takes place on Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010.

Artist Forum & Social
Next Meeting:
Monday, August 16, 7 PM to 8:30 PM
at the CAP ArtSpace

The Artist Forum and Social is a casual meeting of artists (any discipline) who wish to come, participate in a facilitated discussion for about 45 minutes and then hang around and socialize.  No fee. 

Visual artists in particular usually work in isolation, and CAP wants to provide an opportunity to talk to and meet other artists!

One of CAP's primary goals is to get funds into the hands of artists and arts organizations for programs and projects that will enrich Tompkins County's already vibrant arts community.

With funding support from the New York State Council on the Arts as well as local donors and supporters, we're able to offer a number of grant programs. Applications for the following grants are now available at ArtsPartner.org:

The New York Foundation for the Arts has announced the recipients of their 2010 Fellowships, including TWO artists from Tompkins County: Joy Adams and Karen Brummund

This year's 118 NYFA Fellows - who were chosen from among over 6,279 applicants in eight categories - including Architecture/Environmental Structures, Choreography, Fiction, Music/Sound, Painting, Photography, Playwriting/Screenwriting and Video. The Fellows were selected by peer panels, which were assembled with representatives from each artistic discipline.

Joy Adams received her fellowship in the Painting category, and Karen Brummund received her in the Architecture/Environmental Structures group.

Congrats to these two talented artists!
