OuttaSight Events Brings Bruce Cockburn to Kulp
Bruce Cockburn's recording career spans nearly four decades and thirty-three
albums, twenty of which have achieved gold or platinum status in his
native Canada.
From tumbling, guitar-driven rock and roll to subtle acoustic creations,
Bruce Cockburn's performances run the gamut of stylistic approaches
including jazz, blues, reggae, and world music. He is a performer
who masterfully moves his audience through a range of emotions, at
once inspiring them to dance and next inspiring them to think.
His ability to distill political
events, spiritual revelations and personal experience into rich, compelling
songs has made him one of the world's most celebrated artists.Meanwhile, Cockburn's songs have been covered
by such diverse artists as Jerry Garcia, Barenaked Ladies,
Maria Muldaur, Anne Murray, and Jimmy Buffet.
"My songwriting is an attempt to take what I've experienced and what
I think is true and distill it into something that is entertaining,
then throw it out to people and say 'Maybe you can use this too.' In
some ways it makes me the focal point for like-minded people. . . They
hear the songs, and all of a sudden there's a kind of community." May 17, 2008 8PM Kulp Auditorium Tickets on sale here or by calling 607.273.4497

A Midsummer Night's Dream
By William Shakespeare Directed by Norm Johnson
"With pomp, with triumph, and with reveling," IC Theatre brings you the jealous gods,
foolish mortals, puckish faeries, and earnest players of one of Shakespeare's best loved and most
accessible comedies. Once the threshold of Athens' gates is crossed, the edges of dream and
fantasy are blurred. Love potions and the forest's magic play with the minds and hearts of these
beloved characters and allow us to fear, laugh and dream along with them.

writing, The Cornell Savoyards present A
Sensation Novel (book by W.S. Gilbert, music by Michael Nash and Arthur
Sullivan, adapted by Ithaca native Melissa Snyder) on May 9-11, 2008, at the Andrew

formed to perform and promote the operettas of Gilbert and Sullivan, and
related works. Over the years its membership has included students, faculty, and
staff from Cornell and Ithaca College; and members of the greater Ithaca community. Tickets onsale now online here and at the Ticket Center at Clinton House. 607.273.4497
