Must Attend PRSM2008! Sessions
Don't forget to attend Session 6/12 Executive Leadership from Executing the Status Quo to Excellence in Change." Kevin Cashman, president of Leadership Source, Inc, (A Korn/Ferry Company) will have you completely involved with this three hour session. In the current financial climate, leadership is both challenging and essential. Yet, few of us feel adequately prepared to lead through the challenges of budget cuts or RIF's. Fortunately, Kevin Cashman returns to the PRSM National Conference forum to share 30 years of research and pragmatic experience regarding what authentic personal, team and organizational leadership really takes. Blending research, stories and pragmatic tools, Kevin will spark many ways to energize both you and your team to rise to the occasion. If you are responsible for leading a team, this session is for you. This session will be held on Monday from 9:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Need to know how to conduct a good onsite property facility inspection in an existing store? Well, look no further, John Nadler and his team of presenters, Mark Bowlby, Eric Collier and Duane Smith will transfer their many years of knowledge on how to effectively conduct this inspection. This session will review methodologies used to log, inspect and assess existing store conditions during store site visits. Survey forms for different types of store visits will be presented and assessment tools to objectively rate the conditions of different areas of the store will be discussed. This session will be held on Monday from 11:15 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Does your job involve construction of new stores and the transitioning them to facilities? Learn from the experts, Lew Crawford, Kimberly Hunter and Jason Berg. This session will be held on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m.-10:45 a.m. Not only will you receive samples of punch lists, but how to effectively use them. Building Relationships: An Important Lesson Learned!
By: Linda Larsen who will be teaching the session "Building Powerful Relationships" at PRSM2008!
There is nothing more important than the relationships we have with other people. Every single action, goal, dream or idea, in some way or another, involves others. It stands to reason that the better our relationships, the better outcomes we enjoy. Happily, there are ways to use this awareness to the benefit of everyone involved, with integrity and honor.
I learned this years ago, when I was first starting out as a professional actress. I got some great advice from George Ryan, a very talented, highly sought after commercial actor friend of mine from New York. After landing my first S.A.G. (Screen Actor's Guild) job in a national commercial, I discovered that I had to legally join the union. Since there was already a "Linda Larsen" in SAG, my agent said I had to change my name. She suggested Melinda Larsen. I said I preferred Linda Lee Larsen. Nothing was confirmed. The next day after our conversation, without any consent from me, she ordered 200 photos with Melinda Larsen printed on them and sent me the bill.
I was incensed. I couldn't believe it! How she could do that? Who did she think she was? Blah, blah, blah. I called my friend, George, and asked him how I should handle it.
