We need hangers (wire) - gathered neatly and bound with an elastic or ribbon/shoelace, etc. We put all appropriate costumes/accessories on hangers for your convenience in the spring.

Dancers of the Month
Amanda Untracht
Jessie Wang
Amanda is a DEE member and takes the advanced level ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, contemporary, and hip hop classes. She also assists with the Tuesday Kinder FUN class. Amanda has been making great progress lately with her technique and performance quality. She has especially been making progress and embracing the style in hip hop this fall. It's amazing to see how far Amanda has come since she started dancing with us at age 4!
Jessie takes the ballet and jazz Cont. 2 classes. She has been working very hard in class lately and has been making great strides, especially in her ballet technique. She has been putting terrific effort into improving her balances and flexibility. Jessie is such a performer and always has a smile in class!

Yahoo Kids is an awesome website for those dreary winter days when it is too cold to play outside! It has a little bit of everything - from games to music videos to homework help. It also has a parents section that has ideas for entertainment and helpful online safety tips. It's a great website - you should check it out!

Congratulations, Abby
I had the pleasure of watching Abby Cronin dance in a local production of The Nutcracker in December! She was a reindeer and also danced the role of a mini-doll in some performances. Coincidentally, it was the same Nutcracker production I danced in many years ago (at the time it was the ONLY local Nutcracker aside from Boston Ballet). I just love watching my dancers onstage ... I fondly remember seeing Miss Leia and Miss Lauren dance in the Nutcracker along with Katie, Ashley, Deanna and many others. Maybe more of you will audition next year! Great job, Abby!

Happy New Year!!!!!! It's been a crazy holiday vacation like usual - costumes will be ordered this coming week, plans for summer programs have begun, recital show order (monumental task!) has begun - though that will take considerably longer to finish, and photos have been uploaded from the holiday concert. I'm disappointed I didn't finish everything I usually do over the holiday break (especially ordering the costumes), but I'll get it done!

Happy Holidays Concert
Congratulations to the Dance Expressions Ensemble and our Junior and Kiddie Dancers for a fabulous job at our annual Happy Holidays Concert. We were able to forward proceeds from the raffle and many boxes of canned goods and non-perishable food items to area food pantries as well as many toys for the Toys for Tots campaign. Thank you to the parents for driving to Friday rehearsals for this annual tradition. It is wonderful to see everyone pitch in together for a fun and free performance. The camaraderie among all of the dancers is amazing and leads to lasting cherished friendships - such a blessing in itself.

Costume Balances & Semester 2 Tuition Due
Costume balances due Jan. 31st
Semester 2 balances due Jan. 31st
- Clients enrolled in automatic periodic billing will have costume balances added to February or semester tuition on Feb. 1st.
- Clients paying by check for the semester or month must submit payment by January 31st with February or semester tuition. Payments not rendered by Jan. 31st will be charged to the card on file on Feb. 1st.
Please check your file (next to the observation monitor) the first class back in January for your costume balance statement (so you are aware of the charge to the card on file and amount due) - these will NOT be emailed as they are individualized per family.

Candy Land (aka Parents' Day Out!)
Sat. Feb. 11, 2012 - noon-5pm
Candy Land is our original kids event which allows the parents to have some time off around Valentine's Day. We will be designing our own Candy Land game and making "valentines" for loved ones in addition to more crafts, games, dancing, and watching movies. Register by Jan. 31st so we may purchase supplies.

Beach Week
Feb 13-18, 2012 (week before Feb vacation)
Wear your beach attire this week (and bring props) to break out of the monotony of winter! Beach Week last year was extremely successful and a great transition into working on our dances for the June performance. Prizes will be awarded for fabulous "costumes."

Summer Schedules
Believe it or not, we are planning our summer and fall schedules now. We had a great turnout this year for summer dancers which made our holiday concert even better so I would hope to have more enroll this year (my ultimate goal would be to have enough dancers to require for a small theatre rental)! I encourage all motivated and dedicated dancers to participate in a ONE WEEK program that includes FREE fall rehearsals (approx every other Friday). Why join us?

Miscellaneous
The weather is cooler - long sleeve leotards are recommended for younger students.
Weather Cancellations - Classes are cancelled if Tyngsboro schools have been cancelled due to weather. If there is a delayed opening due to weather in Tyngsboro and surrounding towns, there will be no morning classes. If schools have early dismissal due to weather, there will be no afternoon or evening classes. Class cancellations will be posted on the studio Facebook page (another reason to LIKE the studio FB page!- no need to make phone calls to see if we have classes!). Makeups for snow days are allowed if there is a comparable class.
As stated in our policies both online and on the registration form:
- You are responsible for paying tuition in full regardless of absences, illness, vacation, weather, etc.
- No personal checks are accepted after April 30th for this dance season (checks are still accepted for summer and fall enrollment). We had to establish this policy years back due to an influx of NSF checks for season ending tuition payments and ticket sales. We apologize for the inconvenience, but I'm sure you understand. Please plan accordingly.
No makeup classes will be offered once recital choreography has begun as each class is working on different dances.
Costumes will not be distributed nor will recital tickets be sold to those with delinquent accounts (1st full week of May) - all tuition payments must be paid in full before the first week of May.
