- ATF request to require multiple sales reports for long guns delayed. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) was moving to require federally licensed firearms retailers to report multiple sales of modern sporting rifles beginning January 5, 2011
- Some DC Lawmakers are now carrying concealed. While some lawmakers are responding to the mass shooting in Arizona by introducing legislation to increase gun control or asking for additional security, others say they're going to start exercising their Second Amendment rights and carry weapons.
- What a difference a few miles makes. NH Legislators vote to allow CCW at the State House. Which leads to a question, why are the citizens of MA less trustworthy than our Northern neighbors?
- Comm2A announces Hightower v. Boston Right to Carry case in MA. The plaintiff's counsel is now Alan Gura and Chester Darling who are being supported by the Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) and Commonwealth Second Amendment, Inc (Comm2A).
- NJ Governor Christie commutes gun owners prison sentence -- NRA hails decision, calls for real reform.The National Rifle Association praised New Jersey Governor Chris Christie for commuting the prison sentence of Brian Aitken-a gun owner who was arrested, convicted and imprisoned for illegal possession of firearms, even though he had made every effort to comply with New Jersey's restrictive and confusing laws.
- New Gun Shop in Holliston causes a stir. Heavner stocks a full range of pistols as well as long rifles.

- NRA Strongly opposes the nomination of Andrew Traver to head BATFE. More anti-civil rights pandering from President Obama!
- FBI: Mass is most violent state in the Northeast. More proof of the complete failure of the gun laws of 1998
- Jim Wallace on NRA Radio speaking about MA Violence, and the complete failure of the 1998 GCA.
- Pistol Packing Store Owner thwarts machete-wielding robber "Then I drew down on him," Mr. Taylor said, patting his 9 mm Smith & Wesson in the holster at his side. "He was definitely serious; until I got more serious. I always carry."
- NSSF- The MAIG Misuses Firearms Trace Data. In a recent report by the Mayors Against Illegal Guns (MAIG) coalition, an anti-gun organization led by New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, the group misuses firearms tracing data in order to push its own gun-control agenda.
- SAF Sues Eric Holder, FBI over misdemeanor Gun Rights denial. The lawsuit was filed in United States District Court for the District of Columbia. SAF and co-plaintiff Jefferson Wayne Schrader of Cleveland, GA are represented by attorney Alan Gura, who successfully argued both the Heller and McDonald cases before the U.S. Supreme Court.
- Members of Congress to Clinton: Revisit decision on M1 Rifles and Carbines U.S. senators and representatives from both sides of the aisle are urging Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton to revisit the State Department's March 2010 decision disallowing the importation of M1 rifles and M1 carbines from South Korea.
- MAIG Mimimcs Brady Campaign's misuse of tracing data This week, Mayors Against Illegal Guns (MAIG) released a report, similar to earlier efforts by the Brady Campaign, claiming that guns originally sold in states that don't have the gun control laws that MAIG likes are more likely to end up "recovered in out-of-state crimes."
- Follow this case! NRA challenges the constitutionality of handgun ban for law-abiding 18-20 year olds.The suit asserts: "At eighteen years of age, law-abiding citizens in this country are considered adults for almost all purposes and certainly for the purposes of the exercise of fundamental constitutional rights.

We are excited to introduce the drafts of our soon to be filed legislation for the 2011 Season!
At this time GOAL is asking our members to call your state representative and senator, and urge them to co-sponsor these bills!
As they have not been filed yet, they do not have bill #s. When asking your representative or senator to co-sponsor please refer to it as GOAL's bill followed by the name of the bill, example - GOAL's "An Act Relative to Constitutional Rights"

Annual Raffle!
|
Each year, we ask all our members to participate in our Annual Raffle. We need to raise the funds to continue to promote our reform bill and continue to fight for the rights of Massachusetts gun owners. This Annual Raffle is our primary fund raising event for the year and is vitally necessary to our continued success. Tickets are $5.00 each, and you may purchase tickets online, at GOAL headquarters, or by calling the GOAL office at (508) 393-5333.

**Please note that due to postal regulations, we cannot send any part of a raffle ticket through the mail.**
