We need help with Candidates!
GOAL Shield Logo Help us, help you, make great decisions on election day!

One of the fantastic after effects of Scott Brown being elected is a new resurgence of people that are willing to not only get involved by working for campaigns, but also to run for office.

There are more new candidates running for office this November within Massachusetts than we can recall seeing for a long time.  In order to sort through them we are asking for some help.  If you are a candidate for a county, state, or national office, or if you know or work for a candidate, please ask them to fill out one of our new candidate questionnaires.

This will give us a great read on how much a candidate knows, and cares about Second Amendment Issues.  After completing we will grade the questionnaire and post that grade on our Candidate Ratings Pages.  (See below)
*Note:  The U.S. Congress ratings are courtesy of the NRA.  Also note that ALL of our current incumbents up for re-election have an "F" grade.

April 29th BFS Primer Course for State Certified Firearm Instructors
The GOAL Foundation often receives inquiries from both new and seasoned firearm instructors about refresher courses. Our BFS Primer course is definitely part of a well rounded "refresher". As instructors certified by the Commonwealth, as well as the NRA, we are required to convey sections of Massachusetts law (Chapter 140 § 131P). This class runs approximately 3 hours. Topics covered include: frequently asked questions by students, suggested material for student packets and a review of the course requirements for Basic Firearm Safety Instructors certified by the Colonel of the Massachusetts State Police and general gun law.
You do not need to be an NRA Instructor to attend but must be a BFS Certified Instructor.

*Pre-registration is required. Please call Kim Golinski at (508) 393-5333 x202 or send email to jongreen@goal.org to find out when the next available course is scheduled.

Youth Hunt Essay Contest

The GOAL Foundation is sponsoring a contest for a youngster to win a deer hunt in South Carolina.

This is a great chance for a boy or girl to win a fantastic, guided, all inclusive hunting trip!

To enter the contest the boy or girl must write a short letter telling why they should be chosen for an all-expense paid hunt. They must include a recent photo along with their name, address, date of birth, phone number, and the name and phone number of a parent or guardian. Applicants must be 14-18 years of age and have a hunter safety certificate from any state.

Once the lucky winner is chosen, we'll contact both the youngster and the parent or guardian to go over the specific details of the travel and hunt arrangements.

Bang and Tom Collins, owners of the Paradise Valley Hunt Club in Ehrarhdt, South Carolina, have agreed to donate the actual hunt on one of their private properties!

The hunt in this contest would be for three days and completely guided in areas exclusively for the selected hunter only.

The dates of the hunt would be October 7-9, 2010

The parent or guardian would be able to sit with the hunter should they wish to video the event. Processing and packaging of the game would be included. All travel arrangements for the winner and parent/guardian will be taken care of, along with transportation of the equipment and supplies needed for the hunt.
For those who remember how great it felt the first time you hunted, don't be shy sending a donation to The GOAL Foundation to help us make this dream come true. Just mark your check "Junior Hunt Contest".

Entries must be postmarked by April 19, 2010.

Letters should be sent to:
The GOAL Foundation Hunt Contest
PO BOX 567
