  • City of Fitchburg continues unconstitutional licensing violations On Monday, March 8, 2010 several GOAL members contacted our office regarding a recorded message on the Fitchburg Police Department's Firearm Licensing Unit's answering machine. The message states that due to budgetary constraints, they are not able to accept any new firearm license applications.
  • S.921 Judges Disarming Law Enforcement Officers  On Wednesday, January 27, 2010 a piece of legislation had a public hearing before the Joint Committee on Public Safety and Homeland Security that brought to light a very disturbing practice in our courts.
Massachusetts' Highest Court Hastens to Rule Against the Second Amendment
GOAL Shield LogoOn Wednesday, March 10, 2010 the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court (MassSJC) handed down its ruling in COMMONWEALTH vs. Richard RUNYAN (SJC-10480). The Runyan case regarded a lower court's decision to dismiss a charge of improper gun storage. The lower court dismissed the charges based the ruling in the Heller decision in the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS).

Of important note in this decision, that can only be called an aberration, is the absence of a dissenting opinion. This means that every justice sitting on Massachusetts' highest court agrees with everything written in the decision.
In a completely surprising and very disturbing opinion the court ruled against the Second Amendment as being an individual right and also ruled incorrectly that Heller did not rule that trigger lock requirements were unconstitutional.

GOAL Hunter-Junior Hunter News

Youth Hunt Essay Contest

The GOAL Foundation is sponsoring a contest for a youngster to win a deer hunt in South Carolina.

This is a great chance for a boy or girl to win a fantastic, guided, all inclusive hunting trip!

To enter the contest the boy or girl must write a short letter telling why they should be chosen for an all-expense paid hunt. They must include a recent photo along with their name, address, date of birth, phone number, and the name and phone number of a parent or guardian. Applicants must be 14-18 years of age and have a hunter safety certificate from any state.

Once the lucky winner is chosen, we'll contact both the youngster and the parent or guardian to go over the specific details of the travel and hunt arrangements.

Bang and Tom Collins, owners of the Paradise Valley Hunt Club in Ehrarhdt, South Carolina, have agreed to donate the actual hunt on one of their private properties!

The hunt in this contest would be for three days and completely guided in areas exclusively for the selected hunter only.

The dates of the hunt would be October 7-9, 2010

The parent or guardian would be able to sit with the hunter should they wish to video the event. Processing and packaging of the game would be included. All travel arrangements for the winner and parent/guardian will be taken care of, along with transportation of the equipment and supplies needed for the hunt.
For those who remember how great it felt the first time you hunted, don't be shy sending a donation to The GOAL Foundation to help us make this dream come true. Just mark your check "Junior Hunt Contest".

Entries must be postmarked by April 19, 2010.
