A Root Beer That Saves Lives!

Have you heard about Margo's Bark Root Beer?  It's the new, all natural cane sugar soda (for humans) which generates 100% of its profits for shelter dogs and rescue organizations, including Bark Avenue Foundation!

The root beer was invented by 8 year old Oscar Youd as part of his school science fair in 2008.  He named it Margo's Bark after the family dog. Oscar and his family had so much fun with the root beer science project that they decided to make the root beer commercially and see if they could help the cause of shelter dogs.

A year later the root beer is finished!  As of this week it will be available in Whole Foods in Southern California, NV, AZ and HI.  And, it's already available in Bristol Farms throughout Souther California, as well as in a number of boutique markets and cafes in Los Angeles.

Getting into Whole Foods and Bristol Farms is a BIG deal for Margo's Bark and shelter dogs.  The initial weeks in store are a critical period for long term success of the product.  Margo's Bark has donated to Bark Avenue Foundation and will continue to help us save lives.  Bark Avenue Foundation conducted the adoption event at the launch party for Margo's Bark this past May and will be doing more joint events throughout the year.  Please check our Events page for updates on future events - www.barkavenuefoundation.org.

We would love to see Margo's Bark succeed.  Please stop in to your local Whole Foods or Bristol Farms and buy a four pack or two.  Summer is the perfect time for a nice cold root beer, or some tasty root beer floats!!!

Puppy Central!

Bark Avenue Foundation recently rescued 40 puppies from overpopulated, high-kill shelters in and around Los Angeles.  They are absolutely adorable and we know we will find loving homes for them all.  Often times, the puppies are stricken with potentially lethal diseases like parvo and distemper.  We love saving puppies but they are often quite costly due to vaccinations, disease and other health issues.  Some months, we have vet bills running upwards of $6000!  Please consider donating today to help us care for these cute pups until they are adopted.  Every dollar will help!  Please visit our website, www.barkavenuefoundation.org, to make a secure donation online.

Event Update

Bark Avenue Foundation continues to have many great events each month.  We will be doing two more adoption events at local Subaru dealerships (August 15th and September 5th) and will have another fun night of fundraising at Hamburger Mary's Legendary Bingo in West Hollywood (September 2nd).  We continue to have monthly adoption events in Malibu and weekly adoption events in Downtown.  Please visit the Events page on our website for updated information!  And mark your calendars!
