Are
you using a prong collar or choke chain?
Does
your dog walk YOU by pulling you down the street?
Our trainer suggests a "head
collar" such as a haltie or gentle leader.
A martingale is a good collar to work with as well.
Don't "reward" your dog for
pulling towards a destination. Example,
if your dog is pulling towards a tree to pee on, don't let him/her get to
it. You are rewarding the bad behavior
and it will continue.

There he was taught to use positive motivation training techniques as
his primary training tool, which will allow your dog to learn the desired behaviors
while keeping alive the unique spark that makes your dog special to you.
