Sock for a Class Day

Q: What do Socks and Bikram Yoga

have in common?

A: They both keep your feet warm.

 

Help us keep 2,000 toes warm and helps us collect just

200 pairs of Socks for the

Homeless in Central Oregon.

 

This is how it works:

Bring a Pair of Wool Socks to Any Class on Saturday December 3rd and Receive a Complementary Class.

You will keep your feet warm

AND

Your Donated Socks will help

Keep Someone Else's Feet Warm Too.

 

All Socks will be Donated to the Homeless in

Central Oregon.  

 

If you are unable to attend Saturday's class  

we are collecting socks through the month of December.

Update on Michael's Book

"Falling Down Getting Up"

The editing process for the book is now essentially down. The final cover will be designed and the book will be printed and published after the beginning of the year. Once the book is released it will be available everywhere.

 

Submitting Your Story

 

Michael's second book is in the works now. The second book will be a collection of your stories. Many people - really everyone - have incredible stories of "Falling Down Getting Up." Do you have a compelling personal story? Would you like to have your story included and published in a future collection of similar stories in an upcoming book? If your story is selected for publication within a future printed book or e-book we will pay you $100 and provide you with five printed copies of the book.

 Dan Early 
  Dan Early 
 
Dan has said that his most memorable experience in yoga is Eva saying in class: "Sensations are an opportunity to choose not to be reactive." This sounds pretty much like the first premise of yoga, "learning to still the fluctuations of the mind." If you know Dan at all he also seems to be smiling and carefree.
 
Dan started Bikram Yoga just over a year ago in November 2010 and completed a 30 day challenge in April of this year. On a regular basis Dan practices about four times a week. You will often find him in the early 6:15am class.
 
During the last number of years Dan has been challenged by sleep apnea, hypertension, tendonitis in both elbows, arthritis, chronic hip pain and chronic sciatica. To top it off he has a heart condition and had two stents placed in 2002. Dan says that Bikram Yoga allows him to be virtually pain free day to day. He has even dropped a medication due to his regular yoga practice. Dan mentions that his core strength has increased tremendously and the flexibility in his lower back is much better. At 67 this nearly makes him superman!
 
Dan says his output in his work as a therapist has increased over the last year and his focus is greatly improved. He says his most difficult experience in yoga is keeping his mouth shout and staying focused. He learned during his 30 day challenge to repeat the mantra of "just breathe" whenever he began to whine to himself about the heat. Overall he hopes that he can live longer and with an increased range of activities. It looks like he has a pretty good shot at doing just that.
