| WCC Outreach on MLK Day |
Members of the WCC Youth Choir visited the residents of Hillside Healthcare Center in Wilmington on Monday, January 17 for a day of song and service in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
The event truly resonated the "ambassadorship" of the WCC, bringing their love and music to those who are not able to travel to performances.
The students sang several pieces, joyously accompanied by parents and audience alike, then enjoyed a short visit with Hillside's residents.
The feedback was amazing from everyone involved: "It's always wonderful to see the kids sing, but to sing with them--especially in this type of venue--was a truly special experience." --WCC Parent "I want to thank WCC for coming...it's important for us to support the young people, and it's important for young people to meet folks like us and see that we're 'real people' too." --Miss Juanita, Hillside Resident "I have worked with singers and youth group in my ministry, and it's always powerful to see young people express themselves in song." --Pastor Willie, Hillside Resident |
