Question:
Agent or Advisor?

Our clients constantly ask us, "What is the difference between a travel agent and a travel advisor?" A travel advisor is someone who does more than just "book a trip" or makes travel arrangements for you.

A travel advisor:
  • Gets to know you and your travel preferences personally
  • Is a dedicated advocate who works in conjunction with a network of global experts
  • Provides personalized options for you to make informed choices

Southwest Airlines and AirTran Merge
Our favorite airport, Portland Jetport, is growing by the day!  In addition to recent construction updates and improvements, Southwest Airlines has recently acquired AirTran, a low cost domestic carrier with routes to and from the Portland Jetport.

United Continental Holdings is Official
After two and a half years of negotiations, the merger of United Airlines and Continental Airlines for $3.2 billion USD, closed on October 1, 2010. The two companies now comprise the Chicago-based corporation United Continental Holdings, Inc. The integration process of the two airlines is estimated to take 12 to 18 months. In the meantime all flights for either United or Continental will continue as scheduled.

AA and JetBlue Agreement a Benefit to Frequent Fliers
American Airlines and JetBlue Airways recently entered into a flight share agreement as well as a frequent flyer relationship for flights initiating from New York's JFK and Boston Logan. In addition to the convenience of the flight share agreement, members of American's AAdvantageŽ program and JetBlue's TrueBlueŽ customer loyalty program have the added bonus of earning AAdvantage miles or TrueBlue points, respectively, when they fly with either JetBlue or American Airlines to strategic destinations, including Portland, Maine.
