Wild Wisdom
Animals teach us in a variety of ways about behavior, habit, and instinct.  They embody an unconditional love that remains unchanged in the face of shape, size, age, race or gender.  They care little for differences and simply enjoy loving and being loving, and yes, creative mischief.  They teach us (the humans) how to let our guard down.

Other species teach us other life, death, survival, sacrifice and responsibility.  If you find yourself drawn to a particular animal, ask yourself which of its traits you find most intriguing and think about how you might mimic those traits.

Animals express themselves with abandon, freedom, and integrity.  It's natural to be drawn to the wisdom offered by our animal teachers, and in doing so, discover what is natural and true within us.

Happy Holidays & New Year!

Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened ~ Anatole France

Which means we should love ourselves.  Before we humans decided to supersize ourselves to the status of human, we were known as animal too, sharing 98% of dna with Dr. Jane Goodall's beloved chimpanzees.

With that gentle reminder that at times we humans forget that we are animal too ... we would like to extend our gra
cious thanks to our volunteer teams, Pet Wellness Festival Task Committee, sponsors and especially our pet partner animals.  We wish you a peaceful holiday and joyous new year.

Our focus in 2009 will continue to be raising awareness about wellness and working with pets to enhance well-being, while creativing empowering connections for our teams.  Joy to the World.

Other Species as Teachers
Our animal friends have a great deal to teach us.  Through relating to our domesticated animals or studying / observing wild animals / nature, we can learn a lot about ourselves that we have forgotten.  Animals are deeply connected to their essential beings.  They express themselves freely, naturally and in the moment.  Instinctively, they follow the rhythms of life.  They can help us learn to live comfortably, naturally and unabashedly in the moment!
