"Though it's smart to carefully plan, it is truly a waste of
time to worry."

Kids:  Limiting Internet Access
Kids on InternetKids, especially teens, are spending more and more time on the Internet.   It can be a huge distraction.

Here are two tools that might help:

1.
www.MacFreedom.com - This application for both Windows and Mac, enables you to block the Internet for up to 8 hours.  The trial version is free; it can be downloaded for $10.

2.  www.anti-social.cc - Similar to MacFreedom, but only for the Mac, this application specifically blocks social media sites, not all Internet access.
The trial version is free; it can be downloaded for $15.

If your child (or you) has difficulty focusing because of Internet distractions, a tool like this is affordable and can be extremely helpful.

Time:  To-Do Lists Revisited
Checklist Writing a list means you don't have the pressure to remember all of the things you need to do.

Unfortunately, To-Do lists can get very long and overwhelming.

How can you manage it?
1.  Create a separate list for Now vs. Long-Term items.

2.  Just cross off the items you know you will never get to - having them on the list creates clutter.

3.  Schedule time into each day to get "Now" tasks done.

4.  Look at the Long-Term list weekly and move items (or pieces of long-term projects) to the "Now" list so you will schedule time to do it.

The key to any successful To-Do list is to review it daily and schedule time into your calendar for getting specific tasks done.
Home & Office:  Switching Seasonal Clothing
Summer ClothesWith winter fast approaching, it's time to pack up your summer clothes and switch over to your warmer apparel.

If your closet is not large enough to hold clothes for all seasons, pack off-season items loosely in plastic bins with cedar blocks or in a cedar closet.

Before packing last season's clothes, consider the following:

1.  Is it clean?
2.  Does it fit?
3.  Have you worn it?
4.  Does it need repair?

Be selective with what you keep.  If it doesn't make the cut, donating the items will give them a new life in someone else's home.
