Favorite Things
I contacted Dean Street Greenery in Englewood, NJ to help me with my son's bar-mitzvah.

My experience was so fantastic, I had to share (sorry - I know many of you are outside of Northern NJ.)

If you need great looking flowers or unusual centerpieces, call them - they give great, personalized service (and stayed within my budget!)

Kids:   Stop Nagging
NaggingNone of us like to nag about chores but it seems so difficult to avoid!  Here are a few tips that may help:

 1.  Flexible Timeframe - remember that everyone works on their own timetable.  Try to be flexible with deadlines for getting chores done.

2.  Personal Priorities - Try to assign jobs that are in line with personal preferences.  It's more likely they will do something they care about.

3.  Don't Criticize - if something is not done
. At least it's done (and you didn't have to do it.)

Giving children choices of chores will make them feel like they are part of the process.

Time:  If Your House Was on Fire
House on Fire Did you ever think about what you would grab if your house was on fire?

While it is unlikely to actually happen, going through the exercise of what you would take makes you prioritize all of your belongings - those things that are important, valuable, or just sentimental.

If you were affected by Hurricane Irene, you may have already been through this!
Home & Office:  Garages
GarageThe US Department of Energy reports:

25% of people with two-car garages don't park any cars in it, and 32% only have room for one.

Now is a good time to clear out your garage - you'll be glad you did when the snow comes!
Tip of the Month:

"If you want a golden rule that will fit everybody, this is it: Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful."
