Kids: Packing Camp Trunks
Packing camp trunks is a love-hate relationship.
Here are a few steps for reducing the stress in getting them off to camp:
1. List - Go through the camp list and work with your child to find out what is needed. Schedule a time to purchase these items.
2. Label - Go through all items and use a permanent name stamper, marker or iron-on label. While sewn in tags may be best, they require more effort.
3. Pack - I like to sit by the trunks and send the kids on a scavenger hunt. "Go find 10 shorts to take to camp." As they bring me items, I confirm they are tagged, pack them and check them off the list.
Be sure to keep a list of the items that need to be packed last minute or brought with them up to camp (baseball mitt, iTouch, etc.) |

Time: EMail Efficiency
Many of us continue to search for ways to reduce the time we spend on emails.
Here are a couple of tips that may help:
1. Work - Show employees you trust them by asking them not to include you on every paper trail.
2. Home - Take the time to unsubscribe from unwanted email lists.
3. Use Key Words - Using a key word in the subject line enables you to create a "rule" that will automatically put those emails in a folder.
4. Set Standards - Set a standard that stops you from checking email constantly. Whether it's every two hours or twice a day, decide on a system that works for you and others so that your day isn't only spent on emails.
Managing emails can be difficult. Once you have a system that you implement daily, you can reduce your in-box to be more manageable. |
