For those of us in the Northeast, let's hope that Spring will come soon and the freezing weather will be a distant memory.

Have a snow day?  Take advantage of the time to catch up on your organizing projects!

Sincerely,

Kids:  Pet Care
PetsA pet is a great way to teach a child to care for living creatures.

How can you safely involve them?  Try assigning age appropriate tasks.

These may include:

1.  Brushing the dog.
2.  Brushing the pet's teeth.
3.  Emptying a cat's litter box.
4.  Taking a dog for walks.
5.  Drying off pets when wet.
6.  Feeding the pet.
7.  Changing the fish tank water.

Is your child begging for a pet?  Be sure to get him/her involved with pet care from the start.  Both your child and your pet will be better for it!
Time:  Using Lists
Lists Not a regular list user?  Here are three easy steps to make your list-making a success:

1.  If you repeat an activity, make a list and save it (Do you vacation in Florida each February? Make a Passover seder each Spring?)

2.  Keep your lists where you can find them; file them in paper or electronic files.  A packing list should be filed with "Travel" a seder menu with "Passover."

3.  Update your lists to keep them current.  Has your child outgrown the need for a booster in Florida?  Has someone developed a nut allergy making almond cookies a menu no-no?

Lists can help to make your life easier.  Look for opportunities to use them in your daily life.
Home & Office:  Getting Ahead
Maze"The secret of getting ahead is getting started.

The secret of getting started is breaking your complex overwhelming tasks into small manageable tasks, and then starting the first one."

-Mark Twain
From Our Readers:
"We took the boys on their first trip to Disney World this weekend.  David and I agreed that your vacation allowance suggestion would probably work well for our boys.

Hayden asked for the exact amount that David and I were planning on giving them.  Spencer asked for one million dollars!

We told them that whatever they did not spend, they could keep for their savings.  Hayden spent every dime.  Spencer had about $40 to spare.

Thanks for the great advice!"
