by Karen FrankYou've probably run across some or all of these thoughts at some time before. What I didn't know before going to ERS is that there is a much much deeper meaning behind all of them. A deeper meaning that can help you live the life of your dreams - if you listen carefully.
1. Frank Sinatra didn't move his own PianosFor goodness sakes if you're doing things that are not your genius - STOP! In past articles I have mentioned this before - however after witnessing many MANY successful people who achieved a much higher level of success after blessing and releasing those tasks and then believing that the money would come, I feel I can't say it often enough.
If you're waiting for the "perfect" time to hire that VA or get some help with marketing - forget it! The perfect time will never be here. Believe that if you ask for help it will come - maybe in the form of what looks like a problem or challenge - but it will come.
Remember that whatever you charge per hour is what you're actually paying when you yourself do chores like bookkeeping, house cleaning, running errands, returning phone calls or emails etc. There is always someone waiting to do those tasks for you. You only need to ask for help! Then you can spend that time working on (not in) your business - and make more money.
2. LOVE what you do and the money will follow.Sounds like a no-brainer, but this is a sneaky one. Ask yourself this: If money was not an issue for me, if I had all the money that I ever needed, would I still be doing this?
There's an old saying - love what you do and you'll never work a day in your life and it eludes to this, but really it's much deeper than that. It's a result of our conditioning
When we're just getting out in the world, no one says to us, "what are your dreams and how can we support you to achieve them?" No typically we're focused on how to earn some money so we can survive.
Even when we "go independent" (ie self employed") we're really just working in jobs that we own, continuing what we were taught - to trade time for dollars - except we then also try to move our own pianos and have even less time and money - yuk!
When we love what we do, time stops for us. We'd do it all day long and be working in "divine flow." Our ideal clients are attracted to that flow and the rest can be very easy - if you let it.
3. Control your focus - know exactly what you want.If you don't know what you want or where you're going, that's what you're going to get. - Huh?
Think back to last year. Did you have a specific intention for your business? I mean specific. If your intention was "I want to make alot of money, or I want to work less and make more money" chances are those things didn't happen.
Now, please understand this isn't about "goal setting." In my opinion traditional goal setting is a whole lotta hooey! What this is about is:
A. Intense focus on something you want to achieve,
B. unwavering belief that you can do/be/have it. - As David Neagle so often says, "Simply because it is in your awareness the ability for you to do/be/have it are already present.
C. DECIDE that you want to be/do have this. This is Key.
D. Listen to your intuition (or Spirit or the Universe etc) and look for the "next step"
E. Take action on the next step and the pathway will light up before you.
4. Life doesn't happen to you. We've all heard "don't be a victim" but here's another one that's deeper than you think on the surface.
Before ERS I always thought of it like this: It doesn't do you any good to blame others for your predicament, take responsibility for your part and move forward. I've also thought of it like this - you may have also even said it: "Everything happens for a reason."
This may sound a bit woo woo, but here it is:
You are the creator of every experience in your life. In Las Vegas we were all taught, shown, and had the visceral experience of this. In fact there is a reason you are reading this right now. You created the experience that brought these words into your life right now - and it wasn't an accident. You are reading this
for a reason.
Of course this one takes a little faith to "get." The one tool we were given to help us through this new "reality" was to constantly ask ourselves this: "Why am I choosing to have this experience?" Try it. It's an eye opener!
5. Change is awkward and uncomfortable. If you're not living on the edge you're taking up too much room.Everything (including you and your business) is either growing or dying. And when we grow, we experience change. People don't like change. It makes us uncomfortable. To continually grow you must become tolerant or even look forward to the discomfort of change. "Get comfortable with being uncomfortable." And to make exponential shifts, get comfortable with being very uncomfortable. - Not hard - uncomfortable.
So as I shift my business around to generate 6 and then 7 figures this year, will it be comfortable and easy? Of course not! It will be a huge stretch for me. You also need to be willing to be uncomfortable and stretch to grow and change. Maybe that looks like spending more than seems "reasonable" on one aspect of your business. Maybe that looks like facing (and owning) up to the things that aren't working in your life - and changing them. Learn to live on the edge.
6. The Universe doesn't bargain.I love this one!
This is for all of you who are thinking, "Well I want this or that, but I need this to happen before I work toward that. The minute you begin to decide HOW something has to happen and How you want the Universe to deliver what you want - you are sunk.
This was a big part of the reason why things were not going as well as I would have liked in my business. The minute - and I mean the minute I trusted my intuition and acted on a whim (some might say acted irresponsibly) everything began shifting and suddenly I had more business than I could have imagined literally with in one day. Pretty freakin' amazing.
7. Above all value Truth. If it doesn't set you free, it isn't Truth, it's an illusion. And this one is my favorite. Look at what's going on in the media and you can being to see what this is about.
The recession - or economic down turn - or whatever they're calling it this week. The media would like you to think that we're all out of money. Where did it go? Does the appearance of a scarcity of money set you free or not?
It's important to realize that all of the people spouting doom and gloom in the media are paid to say what they are saying. They're not any smarter than you or me (and most certainly not richer). They are just louder.
The truth is the money didn't disappear. It's still out there, In fact there's as much as anyone could ever desire. It's up to you to DECIDE that you want abundance in your life. Once you have done that you must learn to trust your intuition. As long as you are acting within Universal principals (More for all - Less for none) AND you are living your life's purpose, you will have the opportunity to step into your own greatness - and be free
Those are just 7 of the
ideas. If you want them all, I have a notebook filled with notes. It
weighs about 5 pounds. It might be easier (and certainly more
effective) if you join me next year at ERS.
If these ideas resonate with something inside of you, I strongly encourage you to
visit David Neagle's website. He has a TON of amazing products and you can get his home study course "The Art of Success" at no cost. It's a great course. It's what started me on this journey and I highly recommend it.
