Winter is now well and truly upon us, and our customers will really feel the benefit of the quality double glazing we have installed for them, sitting in their cosy living rooms listening to the howl of the wind and the beating of the rain!
The festive period is just around the corner and we would like to wish you a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year. We'll be closing for the holidays to celebrate with family and friends at 5p.m. on 21st December, and re-opening in the New Year at 9a.m. on 7th January. We look forward to seeing you at our new showcentre in Galashiels, in 2008.

 Conservatory Building on a Whole New Level
At Mitchells we love a challenge, and challenged we were recently by a customer in Selkirk.
Wanting to make the most of his first floor lounge, he asked Mitchells to design a conservatory which would enable him to make use of the space above his workshop and allow him to enjoy the beautiful views of the hills beyond.

We are sure you will agree the results are stunning. The Rosewood conservatory and decking area are a beautiful addition to the house, and it is practical too, with tilt'n'turn windows for easy cleaning and an easy-clean heat-reflective glass roof to make the most of the light and reduce noise from the road.

Festive step back in time for Mitchells
The Christmas night out really gives the opportunity to chat to about the years gone by and to think about what the future may hold.
The staff from Mitchell Glass took their "retrospective look" a stage further this year when they held their night out at Quins in Market Street, Galashiels, as this was the location of their site when they opened their first large premises in Galashiels in 1960!
A few of the current staff have been with the company so long that they can remember what it was like to work in the Market Street shop, with the fancy goods for sale and the paraffin stove "through the back" to heat up the pies.
Window manufacturing was a new venture at that time, and the windows were made upstairs, in what is now a Chinese restaurant.
Pictured above are Mitchells fitter Toby; Steve & Sylvia, owners of Quins; and Steve Scott, who started as an apprentice in 1978 in the Market Street building!
For Kevin Mania, Mitchells Installation Manager, it is a case of "keeping it all in the family," as his son now works at Quins!
