The Llama Fest was
originally conceived as an opportunity to highlight Llamas and their
owners in the most public way possible: in the overall cultural context
of food, music, spinning and weaving demonstrations, music, dance, and competitions between the llamas and their handlers.
"If an average attendance of 4,000-5,000 is a public enough event,"
says festival coordinator Caru Das, " then we've been successful.

Each summer three buses loaded with second and third generation Krishna Youth tour the USA, putting on a gala show almost every evening in a different city. These young people are incredibly talented actors, vocalists, and musicians. They have never failed to move audiences wherever they go. Don't miss this once a year opportunity for Indian drama, devotional music, and classical dance.

The kalasha abhishekam
(bathing ceremony) will take place about 10:30 pm. We'd like to thank
the fifty families who participated last year, and all those who have
been regularly supportive over the years.
For anyone who cannot be present to personally bathe the deities,
we shall do the bathing in your name and send the kalasha and other
gifts by post. To see and hear the festivities (except when we are
doing the ratha yatra and the breaking of the butter pot outside) one
can go to this web site, and click both the buttons for temple web cam
and the radio buttons for live audio.
For sponsorship and to receive either the deluxe kalasha for a
donation of $ 251.00 or the golden kalasha for $ 108.00, contact Caru
Das at (801) 798-3559/787-1510, use paypal as below, or send a check to
the Sri Sri krishna temple, 8628 S. State Road, Spanish Fork, Utah 84660.

Vaibhavi's Paintings Decorate Temple Dome.
Three paintings like the one below now decorate the New Kusum Sarovar temple dome. Vaibhavi did them in her spare time (ha!) last winter and this spring. They were mounted recently and gorgeously display some Radha Krishna pastimes in luscious color and opulence. They are quite larger horizontal paintings 3 feet high by 6 feet long. If you haven't visited the temple recently, it's worth coming just to see these works of devotional art.
Thanks to Ram Kishan Das and Avdesh & Uma Agarwal of Los Angeles the deities now have protection and privacy during certain hours of the day and night. Umesh donated and Ram Kishan shipped half a dozen elaborately carved screens, which were bolted first to the wall, then to one another, so they can all fold inward and cover the main altar.
