Please donate to support the Temple Beautification. We are so lucky to have the artiste Vaibhavi to design all the beautiful items. She does deserve our generous support.

While Caru was in Mumbai, he met with Ajit Mistry, who created Spanish Fork's magnificent teak altar in 2001, and commissioned him to carve a Vyasasan (seat) for Srila Prabhupada according to the above sketch by Vaibhavi. It should arrive in 4 months time.
These new temple room doors below, also designed by Vaibhavi, are being manufactured at cost of $10,000. They feature steel, frames, glass insert panels, and elaborate wrought iron work. Several companies were underbidding each other just to get the chance to do these doors.

Holi Festival Unfolds

This year's Holi, or Festival of Colors, will be held on March 29th, Saturday. We are planning for a crowd well in excess of 5,000. Already 400 Festival t-shirts have been printed, which are selling in advance for the very resonable price of $ 10.00 each.

Many months ago, we special ordered 10,000 bags of scented colors from India to supplement the 5,000 we plan to make locally.

While the colors are non stain, revelers are advised not to wear their Sunday best clothes. There will be also be "Color Safe" zones from which you can just watch, without participating.

Shiva Ratri Celebration

Shiva Ratri will be celebrated Saturday March.1st,
5 pm, in the Krishna temple at Spanish Fork with classical Indian
dance, drama, a sacred bathing ceremony of Lord Shiva, a power point
presentation projected onto a huge screen, the chanting of Lord Shiva's
108 names, music, and feasting.

Shiva Ratri is one of the most auspicious days in
the Hindu calendar. It means literally "The Night of Lord Shiva." In
the Hindu pantheon, Lord Shiva is the "Destroyer of Evil" & "the
greatest Devotee of Lord Vishnu." He keeps the forces of darkness and
destruction in check until it's time for the annihilation of the
universe. The Puranas ( ancient scriptures in story form ) explain the
significance of this festival...Read More

Cultural Hall will Hold 500

The temple will greatly appreciate donations for the following, which we have already ordered by advancing a $ 30,000.00 payment.
This last January, Vaibhavi did the research for quality and price, decided upon a company from Texas, and ordered an octagonal pavilion which will hold 500 people. The diameter will be 90 feet and square footage 5,500. This pavilion will be enclosed with insulated glass walls and will contain a performing arts stage.
Because it will be enclosed and insulated, this auditorium will allow the temple to host much larger crowds at the cold weather events, like Shiva Ratri and Diwali (will be ideal for the garba). At present the temple building holds 500 people, of which only 300 can be at the dance and drama upstairs. When more than this number attend the above mentioned events, it becomes uncomfortably crowded.
What will be the function of the temple room henceforward while performing arts are going on outside? A growing number of enthusiasts now prefer to stay in the temple room and do continuous kirtan with Jai Krishna and Bharat Das. At a recent event 200 festival goers elected to forego the performing arts in favor of Harer Nama Kirtan.
When not being used for winter festival events, the Cultural Hall will be an permanent exhibit center. Portable panels and displays will explain Vedic culture, history, art, philosophy, literature, and religion, which tourists will be able to peruse at their leisure.
Total price - $ 200,000.00.

HumorNothing

A group of Jews were at early morning prayers in synagogue.
The rabbi suddenly stands up and declaims, "Oh Lord... I am nothing!" and sits down again.
A little while later, the synagogue's cantor stands up and he says, "Oh Lord, I am nothing!"
Everyone continues praying. Then the synagogue's janitor gets together
his courage, and he jumps up and says, "Oh Lord, I am nothing!"
So the rabbi leans over to the cantor and whispers, "Now look who thinks he's nothing!"

Never was there a time when I, nor you, nor all these kings did not exist. Nor in the future shall we ever cease to be. The soul is undying, unborn, eternal, and is not slain when the body is slain.
