The kindness of a devotee who works for an airline resulted in Vaibhavi visiting the ISKCON temple in Waikiki in December. Caru leaves for India on January 2nd. He's looking forward to spending a day or two with Binaka and Ameet Santaran in Mumbhai before moving on to Pandharpur, Kollam, Udupi, Mysore, and Tirupati.

Fencing Kusum Sarovar

The Kusum Sarovar lake was created in 2001 to coincide with the opening of the temple. Though there are no combustible elements in the building, fire code dictated there had to be enough water available to supply 1500 gallons a minute for 90 minutes. That equals 200,000 gallons. In the middle water is five and a half feet high.
As long as it had to be done in order to get the occupancy permit, we decided to make it nice. Vaibhavi obtained rocks from Pelican Point, and Bratt's Landscaping advised us on the preliminaries of materials acquisition, bulldozing and preparation. When it was their turn to come in, they kindly worked at a discount. The lake would have cost well over $ 50,000 to have them do it outright, but we spent only half that amount for a beautifully designed reservoir and waterfall. Read More

Recently listeners of Utah's Internet Radio Krishna were delighted to see for
the first time titles and artists displayed by their various media
players. Indeed, the list of artists and titles extends to almost
14,000, possibly the largest selection of Krishna audio on the planet.
There have been many devoted
listeners since Radio Krishna went to the internet four years ago.
However, until yesterday, we hadn't the technology to satisfy their
curiosity about the titles of the songs and the artists. With the
recent purchase of a PC server for $ 1,500.00 and with the technical
expertise of Balarama Das, the curiosity of listerners will no longer
go unsatisfied. Just about all media players... read more

Govinda's Buffet

Recently. we purchased a steam table for Govinda's Buffet which is on the temple premises, and is open from 10 am until 7 pm daily. Oddly, on the same day, Mina Kumar, who runs a Spanish Fork gas station with her husband, Raman, donated another brand new steam table. Thus, not one, but two steam tables came to us in one day. These newly arrived steam tables both enhance the looks of the buffet as well as the number of hot entrees we can offer. Read More

HumorExercise for Seniors

Here is an exercise suggested for seniors, to build muscle strength in the arms and shoulders. It seems so easy, so I thought I'd pass it on to some of my friends. Just don't over-do it. Begin by standing on a comfortable surface, where you have plenty of room at each side. With a 5-LB. potato sack in each hand, extend your arms straight out from your sides, and hold them there as long as you can. Try to reach a full minute, then relax. Each day, you'll find that you can hold this position for just a bit longer. After a couple of weeks, move up to 10-LB. potato sacks. Then 50-LB. potatoes sacks, and eventually try to get to where you can lift a 100-LB. potato sack in each hand and hold your arms straight for more than a full minute.
After you feel confident at that level, put a potato in each of the sacks.

As the embodied soul continually passes in this body, from boyhood to youth, to old age, similarly, the soul passes into another body at the time of death. The self realized soul is not bewildered by such a change.
