Wedding Weekend

Because the bride's family was from one side of the country,
California, and the groom's family from the other side, Florida, Utah
was chosen as a mid way point where everyone could meet. So from
Florida came Gurudev's mother and father Baliji, and Balaji's brother
Toshan Krishna and wife, and various sisters and cousins.

Radio Krishna on the Internet

Download to your Desktop: Win : Mac
I am tuned in to KQHN via internet. I am a frequent listener. I have also told many devotees about your station.
In any case, as I sit here reviewing all my emails and listening to KHQN, you came on air asking for comments, suggestions, and support. Prabhu, I can't thank you enough for your wonderful service. Your programming is awesome. I really benefit from the traditional bhajans. I also enjoy the "current" devotional music you play. I very much enjoy and benefit from the different readings (Mahabharat, etc.) What I also find to be very beneficial is hearing Srila Prabhupada having discussions with various people, either his own voice or your voices. I usually can count on some good traditional bhajans in the morning, which I like. Perfect for mornings. Please keep the bhajans coming. For me, bhajans and devotional music should be most of the programming. That is just my own preference. I appreciate all the variety on KQHN. Also, thank you for NOT being political. You have done a great job in keeping Srila Prabhupada as the focus. It's transcendental. I really appreciate that. Keep it clean!
May Krsna bless you with the capacity and facility to maintain this seva. As I benefit from it, I can only imagine how many others in the world with internet access are benefitting. All glories to your service.
Hoping this finds you well and in good spirits.
Your servant,
NayanAnanda das Soquel, California

Utah Governor Hosts 3rd Annual Diwali

Caru and Vaibavi attended the third annual Diwali
dinner in the Governor's Mansion downtown Salt Lake City. The Governor
first spoke at the podium of his recent trip to India with 31 business
represent- atives from Utah, mentioned how much he enjoyed the trip, was
nostalgic about it, and how the cooking smells (only vegetarian food
was served during the dinner) of the evening took him mentally back
there. He'd wanted to show off his 2 year old adopted daughter from
India, Asha Bharati, but it was past her bed time. Rest of Article

Krishna at Local School Assembly

When the Nebo Junior High School
contacted us with a request for a dancer to present Krishna Culture at
their school assembly November 13th, we connected them with Suba.
Yesterday morning Vaibhavi and I were thrilled to see her perform
before 400 local Junior High Schoolers and their teachers. . . . Complete story

We Had a Happy Diwali

In the past, we have limited our advertisements for Diwali, fearing
that as the colder weather forces everything indoors, and the temple
capacity is 500, we shouldn't aspire for more attendees. This year,
however, we had built an outdoor stage, the weather had been very nice
(mid 60's during the day) and we had the idea to put out patio heaters
on the verandah. Thus there were three places where more than 1,000
people could congregate: 1) The downstairs gift store and buffet, 2) the
upstairs temple room, and the 3) out door verandah with heaters and stage.

HumorThree Pints

Mr Patel walks into a bar in London, orders three pints of beer and
sits in the back room, drinking a sip out of each one in turn. When hefinishes them, he comes back to the bar and orders three more.
The bartender approaches and tells him, "You know, a pint goes flat after ashort while it so it would taste better if you bought just one at a time."
Mr Patel replies, "Well, you see, I have two brothers. One is in New York, the other is in Nairobi and I'm here in London. When we all parted companyfour years ago, we promised that we'd drink this way to remember the dayswe spent together. So I drink one for each of my brothers and one for myself."
The bartender admits that this is a nice custom and leaves it there.
Mr Patel becomes a regular in the bar, and always drinks the same way. He orders three pints and drinks them in turn.
One day, he comes in and orders only two pints! All the regulars take
notice and fall silent.
When he comes back to the bar for the second round, the bartender says, "I don't want to intrude on your grief, but I wanted to offer my condolences
on your loss."
Mr Patel looks quite puzzled for a moment, then a light dawns and he
laughs. "Oh, no, everybody's just fine," he explains...
"It's just that my wife and I became devoted followers of the ISKCON Hare
Krishnas and obviously I had to quit drinking. Hasn't affected my brothers
though."
