INDIANAPOLIS, IN (May 18th, 2012) - Day 3, and final day, for The 9th Annual 'Greening the Heartland' Conference here in Indy brings to center stage The New Wishard Hospital project. This is the largest LEED documentation project currently being constructed in Indianapolis. Registered as a LEED campus project the multiple building site is just midway along its path to LEED Silver certification. Final documentation completion is anticipated in 2014.
Here today to speak on the how's and why's of this immense undertaking are representatives from Wishard-Eskenazi Healthcare. Dr. Lisa E. Harris, CEO and Medical Director for Wishard Health Services and Matthew R. Gutwein, CEO of Health and Hospital Corporation of Marion County will offer an insider's look at what it takes to go LEED on a large scale. Moderating the presentation will be Heather Zeto, CEO of Platinum Earth LLC Sustainability and LEED Consulting, USGBC-Indiana Vice Chair -2012., and a member of the LEED consulting team for the New Wishard Hospital. The presentation is scheduled for today in Exhibit Hall A beginning at 11:00 am.
Even though today is the final day of the conference, for those wanting to attend today's events a Single Day Pass can be purchased both Onsite and On-Line at www.greeningtheheartland.org. GTH full conference attendees must make their final educational session selections this morning. In addition to the Plenary Session, full conference attendees will select from 9 diverse and timely breakout sessions to achieve a full compliment of continuing education units. The sessions offer CEUs' for many professional credit maintenance programs including AIA and GBCI. Following up the morning sessions and Closing Plenary with any one of 4 city tours makes for a complete GTH 2012 experience.

Yesterday was the last day to sign up for GTH 2012 Tours but an early request may still gain access to these events depending on available space. All but the bike tour are included in the conference pricing. City Tours are the best way to end the day with a good stretch of the legs and some off-site green community experiences. Any one of these 4 tours promises a great end to a complete conference experience.
