Northeast Branch 2010 Committee Nominations
2010 is quickly approaching and plans are in the works for future
enhancements to Steering Committee roles.
On Wednesday, December 2nd ALL Northeast Indiana members are invited to attend the role discussion, followed by the appointment to the positions listed below. (Meeting to be held starting at 11:30am, at Trane, 6602 Innovation Blvd.)

Vice ChairPlease note one year's experience on the Steering Committee is required.
Vice Chair moves into the role of Chairperson the following year and then into Past-Chair position in the third year.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- General assistance to steering committee members when needed on all programs and planning.
- Attendance at executive committee meetings.
- Back up reporting for absentee steering committee members when needed.
- Prepare to assume Chair role the following year.
- Recruit and Train Successor
Sponsorship Committee ChairRESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Seek and encourage members and non-members to become annual and event sponsors of the USGBC in support of quality programming.
- Explain benefits of sponsoring.
- Create relationships with sponsors in the hope that they will continue to give to the organization.
Membership Committee ChairRESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Provide information on the USGBC an FW Branch to prospective new members.
- Encourage and greet all potential new committee members; recruit new volunteers to committee meetings and nominate for committee when appropriate.
- Work with Communications Committee Database Administrator on a quarterly basis to verify current membership of all members and steering committee members.
- Represent the USGBC at new members receptions.
- Work with Secretary and Communications committees to have an ongoing supply of program and membership literature for distribution at events and in the community.
- Conduct market research campaigns of current and potential membership as it pertains to particular interests/needs that the group should address.
- Coordinate special membership drives and promotions with Programs Chair.
- Follow up with non-members who attend programs and recruit them membership.
- Assist Programs Chair with promotion of events to potential new members.
- Work with the Communications Database Administrator to share new membership information.
- Work with officers to discuss any new outreach activities.
- Track steering committee attendance.
Advocacy/Education Committee ChairRESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Establish a committee to assist him/her with providing interaction with local, regional and state wide regulatory and elected officials in accordance with the legislative and regulatory agenda agreed upon by the State chapter of the USGBC.
- Coordinate with the Programs committee to arrange opportunities to meet with and provide interaction between our membership and local and state regulators.
- Provide local and regional legislative and regulatory agenda items to be submitted to the state for approval to be sure that a consistent message is presented within Indiana.
Emerging Green Builders Committee ChairRESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Coordinate the creation and distribution of program promotional pieces with the Programs Chair and Membership Chair.
- Communicate with Steering Committee and keep updated on the group's events, membership, sponsorships, and finances.
- Act as a resource to the Steering Committee and members.
- Report to the Steering Committee.
- Attend EGB Steering Committee meetings and offer advice and guidance.
- Assist EGB Steering Committee and subcommittees with events, membership, sponsorships, and finances.
