TESL Ontario

Greetings!

ESL WEEK 2012 CONTEST NOW OPEN!

Last year's ESL Week contest was a great success and we are pleased to announce the opening of the 2012 contest.

For 2012 we have modified the contest opening and deadline dates to ensure that instructors and learners have time during the school year to complete their projects for the ESL Week contest.

This year there will be two separate contests; one for learners and one for instructors. TESL Ontario will award one $250 Grand Prize for a single winner across all entry categories for each contest (learner and instructor).

In addition, first place winners from each category for which enough entries were received will be recognized at the annual TESL Ontario conference. TESL Ontario will cover the cost of travel and accommodations for grand prize and first place winners.

All winning entries will be published or displayed in TESL Ontario publications, on the TESL Ontario website or social media applications where appropriate.

The long-standing tradition of the ESL Week poster contest has evolved into a more dynamic competition with activities designed to appeal to a variety of creative strengths including writing, photo and video entry categories. With this in mind, we will be discontinuing the poster contest as of this year.

ESL week is a significant part of our efforts to raise the awareness of the importance of English language learning opportunities for newcomers to Canada. All individuals involved with learning, teaching and organizing ESL in Ontario are invited to participate.

The final deadline for contest submissions is July 15, 2012For complete details about the 2012 ESL Week contest and entry guidelines please visit our website at: http://www.teslontario.net/esl-week

VOTE FOR YOUR FAVORITE ESL WEEK POSTER!

This year TESL Ontario is having a poster designed to promote ESL Week across Ontario, and we want your help in choosing the final concept.

Three draft poster concepts have been posted on the TESL Ontario website, we hope that you will take a few moments to view the unfinished concepts and vote for the one you like the best.

The poster with the most votes will be finalized with photos from the TESL Ontario conference and be made available for download on our website for learning centres and institutions who wish to print it for display in support of the 2012 ESL Week.

Click here to view the posters concepts and to cast your vote.  Voting will remain open until Wednesday March 28, 2012.

Best Regards,
