This caterpillar is a Pipevine Swallotail preparing to pupate. A wasp was pestering it as it tried to duck its head into the silk girdle. We brought in the 'J'ing caterpillar and allowed it to finish preparing to pupate. The next day we had one Pipevine Swallowtail chrysalis.
