Pinotage?
 
 Pinotage is a red wine grape that is South Africa's signature variety. It was bred there in 1925 as a cross between Pinot noir and Cinsaut (Cinsaut is known as Hermitage in South Africa, hence the portmanteau name of Pinotage). It typically produces deep red varietal wines with smoky, bramble and earthy flavors, sometimes with notes of bananas and tropical fruit, but has been criticized for sometimes smelling of acetone. Pinotage is often blended, and also made into fortified wine and even red sparkling wine

In 1981 Gerret and Tatiana Copeland, residents of Wilmington Delaware and long time admirers of the wines of Burgundy, purchased land from Beringer and established Bouchaine Vineyards. A massive renovation was completed in 1995 updating the winemaking facility with new technology and refurbishing the entire facility in a rustic style that garnered numerous awards from historic and architectural organizations.
 
Tatiana Copeland is a respected CPA and financial analyst, and she is involved in the management of finance, marketing, and sales at Bouchaine. In addition to her endeavors at Bouchaine, Copeland heads her own tax and financial consulting firm in Wilmington, Delaware and serves as president of several different companies.
