Flowers, Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
 

Fresh focused fruit aromas of cherry, raspberry, and plum are followed by hints of violet, spice, mineral, and pepper. This wine offers crisp acidity upon entry unfolding with juicy flavors of strawberry, raspberry, black fruits and leather. The 2007 vintage offers intense fruit flavors on the mid palate. Tannins are supple creating a lingering finish with cola and smokiness.

Ravenswood, Barricia Zinfandel

"Bright red. Powerfully scented, spicy bouquet of raspberry, boysenberry, dried flowers, nutmeg and clove. Deeply flavored but nicely focused, offering lively red and dark fruit flavors, dusty tannins and a suave floral pastille quality. Finishes spicy and quite long. These vines were planted around 1880, according to Peterson."

Chateau St. Jean, Belle Terre Vineyard Chardonnay

 ...put through full malolactic fermentation, making it the most showy, flamboyant wine of this quartet. It also possesses impressive minerality as well as attractive notes of apricots, tropical fruits, mangoes, honeysuckle, and a subtle touch of hazelnuts. This delicious, medium to full-bodied 2007 should drink well for 2-4 years

Nautilus, Pinot Noir

"Nautilus Marlborough Pinot Noir 2008 is dark ruby in colour and shows an aroma of wild raspberries, plums and spice. The palate is medium to full-bodied with generous fruit sweetness and succulent tannins combining to give a long warm finish. The primary fruit components showing in the wines youth will further develop and integrate over the next five years as the wine matures."

Cinnabar, Mercury Rising

Flashing a plush mouthfeel and great complexity, this wine opens with a nose of blackberry, black cherry, toasted oak, dried herbs, earth and cocoa. Well-integrated tannins support flavors of cassis, baking spice, vanilla and mocha and a long juicy finish of dense ripe fruit and spice.

Soter, Beacon Hill Pinot Noir

Immediately after being served, the  Pinot Noir Beacon Hill revealed black chocolate and dark fruit aromas that slowly morphed into sweet waxy red cherries with aeration. This gorgeously ripe, lush, medium to full-bodied wine is pure, broad, and suave. Immensely sweet (from fruit, not sugar), it offers lush layers of red cherry syrup, jammy raspberries, and spicy black cherries.

Soter, Mineral Springs Pinot Noir
 
Medium red color. Zesty red berry aromas quickly give way to darker suggestions of spicy blackberry and blackcurrant. Fresh and precise, with impressive focus to the luscious red and dark berry flavors. Dusty minerality and gentle tannins frame the sweet, sappy berry flavors on the very long, suave, silky finish. This is extremely sexy wine.

Soter, Blanc de Blanc

Yellow-gold, with a strong, steady bead. Musky pear and buttery brioche aromas are complicated by hazelnut, iodine and pungent herbs. Rich dried pear and apple flavors boast impressive vivacity for the age of this wine, picking up toasty lees and baking spices on the back end. Extremely impressive and one of the most complex New World bubbly wines I've ever drunk.

J, Brut Rose

Wonderful richness, complexity and depth, built around a core of spicy black cherry and Pinot Noir fruit. A pleasant earthy hazelnut flavor adds intrigue and the texture is smooth and polished, ending with a creamy mouthfeel. This J Brut Rose sparkles with a luminous cool pink hue and exudes delicate aromas of strawberry, nectarine and juicy red apples. On the palate, the wine opens with flavors of cherry, blood orange, citrus peel and the tropical star fruit that are underlined by a bright acidity that keeps the overall impression delightfully fresh with a lively, lingering finish. The wine engages the entire palate with balance wrapped in a refined body of elegance and effervescence. A blend of 69% Pinot Noir, 29% Chardonnay, 2% Pinot Meunier. .

J, Brut

Chateau St. Jean, Cinq Cepages
 

Cinq Cépages ("Five Varieties") is a Bordeaux-style blend consisting of Cabernet Sauvignon (77%), Merlot (9%), Cabernet Franc (7%), Malbec (4%), and Petit Verdot (3%). Each component is aged separately for two years in small French oak barrels (47% new) before blending. Once the wine is assembled, it spends six months in the bottle before release."Deep purple hue. Light aromas of walnut, black cherry and a whiff of cassis. Dusty tannins on entry accent mocha, clove and blackberry fruit flavors. Tart close of Bing cherry and minty overtones."

Ghost Block, Cabernet Sauvignon
 Highly Allocated, Rare Cult Status

The 2007 vintage has bright and elegant aromas of cherry, blackberry, tobacco, spice and roses. On the palate the wine leads into a balanced and full attack of ripe blackberries, cherries with deep dark chocolate and coffee in the mid-palate, to a long and lingering finish of toffee, orange peel, and cherries.

Duckhorn, Estate Cabernet
 

"If anyone needs proof that Napa Valley can still grown honest cabernet, structured rather than softened by tannins, taste this wine from Duckhorn. It's balanced and firm, with plenty of alcohol to fire the earthiness. Its structure is completely filled by dark fruit and fruit-skin flavors of blueberries and black cherries. There's a lasting wild mushroom fruitiness to the tannin as well, adding depth to the wine and strengthening its potential to age."

Frank Family Vineyards, Pinot Noir

Has aromas that are vibrant and abundant, opening with red raspberry and May Duke cherries followed by smoked bacon, leather and forest floor with a hint of sweet violet throughout. The palate is supple, polished and layered with fresh strawberries, cranberries, cherry cola, rhubarb pie hibiscus tea, cinnamon, honey and smoked meat. While the wine's impression is youthful and lively, the tannins are silky and polished, giving exceptional structure and a soft lingering finish.
