It is once again time to introduce the new wines for this quarter. For the 4th Quarter we have teamed up with Pat Nash From Bacchus Imports to supply some absolutly fabulous wines for your enjoyment. This weekend for both the Friday and Saturday tastings we will be featuring the 4th Quarter wines.

Buehler
Chardonnay
Russian River, CA
The 2008 Russian River Chardonnay displays abundant passion fruit/stone fruit aromas accented by toasty, graham cracker sur-lie qualities. The mouthfeel is creamy and full but the natural acidity of the Russian River fruit carries this velvet textured package to a long, clean finish.

Campos de Luz Spanish White
Spain
Campos de Luz is made by Bodegas Esteban Martin in the village of Alfamen in Aragon, about 50 km south-east of Zaragoza and about 380 km north-east from Madrid. Pale yellow in colour. In the nose, floral aromas and notes of tropical fruits. Full on the palate, long aftertaste. The freshness tangy acidity of our traditional Macabeo is balanced by the weight of Chardonnay. Flowery and fruity, a refreshing dry white wine.

Cat Amongst the Pigeons

The 2008 Riesling exhibits an expressive bouquet of mineral, citrus, spring flowers, and a hint of tropical aromas. This is followed by a medium-bodied, crisp, intense Riesling with vibrant acidity, excellent balance, and a lengthy finish. It will evolve for 2-4 years and drink well through 2016.

Domaine de Givaudan 
Cotes du Rhone
France
70% Grenache Noir and 30% Syrah. Domaine de Givaudan is a 45 acre estate beautifully tended vines in the southern part of the Rhone Valley. This full bodied wine has loads of crushed berry and ripe strawberries flavors, doused with allspice. Its velvety tannins lead the way to a long fruity and peppery finish. Best served with grilled red meats.

Cline
Cashmere
Italy
Our Cashmere is a silky and wonderful blend of Mourvèdre, Grenache, and Syrah. Just as with the processing of cashmere, the production of these meticulously farmed grapes and the blending of the components that result in this wine is something achieved only with extraordinary time and skill. Cashmere is a very flavorful, smooth wine offering big cherry, raspberry and chocolate notes with hints of cracked black pepper and plum.

Campos de Risca
Monastell
Spain
Found principally in the south-east of Spain, it is one of the few grapes to withstand the extremely dry climate of this region. It needs plenty of sun to ripen and if so, gives juicy, almost meatly wines. This bright, 100% Monastrell is a ruby-red wine that offers clean, fresh aromas of ripe black fruit and hints of herb. On the palate, it is juicy with hints of gaminess and spice, with a soft balance of acidity and tannins leading into the long, round finish.

Reserve White Porto
Portugal
Brilliant golden amber color. Dried peach, golden raisin, and pear aromas. Medium-bodied with dried fruit, peppery spice, and delicate chalky minerality. Finishes with a drying fade of light tannin, dried fruit and a touch of white pepper.
