The Vineyard
The vineyards are located on sandy soil in the shadow of Mount Diablo in Contra Costa. The concentration, depth and complexity of this port are a reflection of the fruit grown from these nearly quarter-century-old vineyards.
Cellar Practices and Winemaking
The fruit for this wine was harvested in a very ripe and slightly dehydrated state, at the peak of flavor perfection. After fermentation, the wine was fortified with brandy made from Rosenblum Cellars' own fruit to achieve the desired level of alcohol and residual sugar.
Winemaker Comments
You will find this to be a very rich and seductive port. The wonderful essence of Zinfandel combines with the silky brandy to create a flavor and mouthfeel seldom achieved in California fortified wines.
