I can hardly believe it is the end of January. This year is already beginning to fly by. The end of January means the start of tax season. Please let us know if you have any questions regarding your accounts.

 The Markets

Market Up So far, the markets have not shown much direction. The S&P 500 has crept forward this month as many companies have reported strong earnings.

Even with the positive earnings news, concern still lingers over the markets. Concern that the Fed will increase interest rates due to inflationary fears continues to top the list. Unfortunately, inflation does not seem to be softening as much as economists forecasted a few months ago.

The market hopes to get a feel for what the Fed is thinking on January 31st. That information combined with the announcement of other key economic indicators (such as GDP, employment, and housing) should help to give the market some guidance and direction for 2007.

 The Office

reception with fenway We recently had our annual audit from LPL's compliance department. During the audit, LPL reviews our files to ensure we maintain proper records. They also examine client accounts to make sure that we are acting properly on behalf of everyone.

After a couple hours of questions and review, the compliance officer once again gave us high marks. Much of our success is due to our clients. By promptly completing and returning LPL's paperwork, our office is able to maintain accurate records thus avoiding regulatory issues. We know that LPL requires a substantial amount of paperwork and appreciate your help.

 The Family

Fenway & Edgar I wrapped up my first dart season this month placing 9th of 16 in my division. On February 2nd, I will participate in a "shoot off". The shoot off is a tournment which will crown the top player from each division. Wish me luck!

Remember, we help our clients with much more than investment management. If you have any questions regarding insurance, tax strategies, retirement planning, estate planning, or debt strategies, please give our office a call to schedule an appointment.
