Dear Friends, I hope you had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend! After a week of deep cleaning, painting, and refurbishing the Museum, CMEE is excited for the new summer season. As part of our spring cleaning, CMEE installed a mini-gym in the "Fun to be Fit" exhibit with exercise equipment designed just for kids! To help you jump start your family's summer, CMEE is offering a full schedule of classes, concerts, workshops, and special events. Check out CMEE's website or pick up our Summer Program Guide for all the details. Mark your calendar this summer for CMEE's "Twirligig Tuesdays," our Picnic & Performance Series featuring the top names in children's entertainment every Tuesday evening in CMEE's outdoor amphitheater. See below for the full schedule of concerts. We're also delighted to announce the addition of Super Soccer Stars, as well as Gymboree to our roster of summer classes. In response to parents who have wanted a lunch option at CMEE, the MoonSoup Shop is providing "Moonsoup Munchies," a new food cart offering fresh sandwiches and snacks to help extend your visit at CMEE without having to leave to find something to eat. Read more below. Make sure you plan to attend CMEE's "Under the Sea" Family Fair set for July 24. Tickets are already selling for this 2nd annual benefit for the Museum. Last year brought a capacity crowd, and we expect this year's fair to bring even more oceans of merriment and entertainment! As always, thank you so much for your patronage and support of CMEE. We hope to see you here often this season!
Sincerely,
 Stephen Long Executive Director |

Pizza & Pajama Night Friday, June 4 | |
Join us this Friday, June 4 at 6pm for our monthly Pizza & Pajama Night. CMEE's 'Family Night Out' program invites children to come to the museum in pajamas, eat pizza, listen to a story in the CMEE library, and participate in an art activity. Advance sign-up is required for this popular program. This month's story is Marla Frazee's "Couple of Boys Have the Best Week Ever," a hilarious and moving celebration of young boys, childhood friendships, and the power of the imagination. In this Caldecott Winning book, Marla Frazee captures the very essence of summer vacation and what it means to be a kid. When James and Eamon go to a week of nature camp and stay at Eamon's grandparents' house, it turns out that their free time spent staying inside, eating waffles, and playing video games is way more interesting than nature. But sometimes things work out best when they don't go exactly as planned. Free to Members; $7 for Non-Members. |

CMEE's 5th Annual Classroom Connection Kite Fly took place on a picture perfect May morning in Sag Harbor's Mashashimuet Park, with over 300 3rd graders from schools all over the East End. The Kite Fly was the culmination of the Classroom Connection Program, conceived and coordinated by local parent Eva Petersen and sponsored by CMEE. As children develop writing and design skills, the program helps foster friendships, tolerance, and understanding between children of different communities and backgrounds who might otherwise not have met. |

Greetings! Henry here, and hoppy, er 'happy' that is, to write my second column for the CMEE e-newsletter. While staff at CMEE were polishing up the Museum last week, I spent time in the Museum's garden where flowers and vegetables are starting to grow. I hope you'll sign up for CMEE's "Roots and Shoots" class this summer with Steve Eaton of Quail Hill Farm. He'll show you how you can grow your own food, including tasty treats like lettuce and carrots for me! |
