Greetings as we bid a fond farewell to 2011! San Antonio ended the year on the pages of Yahoo! News, U.S. News and World Report and Forbes as the Milken Institute ranked San Antonio as the nation's best-performing city for 2011 in its annual ranking of 200 metropolitan areas.

 

2011 was an important year for the future of downtown. City leaders heard presentations of the Downtown Strategic Framework Plan, the HemisFair Park Master Plan and the expansion of the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center. As we look forward to 2012, we are preparing for what will be a critically significant year as we begin to implement the Downtown Strategic Framework Plan, which will serve as a roadmap for the growth and development of the center city over the next decade.
