  • $1,300 from the pumpkin sale at the Farmers' Market
  • $800 from Councilmember Archibong's budget
  • $500 from The Porch Press
  • $362 from Martha Brown United Methodist Church
You may donate to Neighbor in Need on EACA's website on this page; all donations are tax deductible.  Help us reach our goal!

The Atlanta Police Department and Crime Prevention
As we move further through the holiday season it is important to remember what we can all do to help prevent crime in our community.  The APD can be a great resource for  information to help make yourself save while at home, at work or out on the town.  Please take a look at these crime prevention tips that not only include personal protection pointers but also information about creating Neighborhood Watches.

 East Atlanta Security Patrol

Crime continues to be the talk of Atlanta.  For the week ending December 4th, Beats 609 and 610 experienced an unusually high volume of incidents, the most in Zone 6.  The EASP has been receiving a lot of calls the past few weeks, and our officers have probably helped deter additional crimes.  For East Atlanta's Beat 610, there were fifteen crimes last week.  There were six residential burglaries, one commercial burglary, two armed robberies, two larcenies and four auto thefts.  Amazingly there were no auto larcenies, but the high number of auto thefts more than made up for it.  Beat 609 is likely being victimized by many of the same criminals, as they had twenty crimes last week, including an armed robbery, six residential burglaries, two commercial burglaries, two larcenies, two auto larcenies and seven auto thefts.

Through November 2010, Beat 610 has had 51% fewer burglaries than in the first eleven months of 2009.

To learn more about the East Atlanta Security Patrol, view updated news and notes or to enroll, visit the EASP website. There is a 50% discount for longtime residents and those 65+. To qualify, you must have lived at the same address for 20 years or be over age 65. We also have a 20% discount for members of an APD-sanctioned Neighborhood Watch. Please contact us if you're interested in setting up a Neighborhood Watch on your street.
