runs off. Much to Bagheera's dismay, Mowgli meets a new friend with a
happy-go-lucky philosophy of life -- Baloo the Bear, a lovable "jungle
bum." Together, the three buddies find the journey back to civilization
anything but civilized! Rated G. 78 min. Reservations are required. |
Atlanta Charter Middle School Bike Rack Project
|
To encourage students to ride their bikes to school this
year at Atlanta Charter Middle School in Ormewood Park, the School is exploring
options for adding bike racks to the school grounds. One of the more
creative possibilities is to make a rack out of old bike frames that have been
welded together.
If you have an old bike laying around (in any
condition) that you could donate to this project, please contact ACMS parent
Steve Bayliss ( bayliss@visa-law.net).

EABA Business Briefs |
First Friday Results from back in August were off the charts. The East Atlanta Village helped to raise almost $500 for Paws Atlanta, a no kill animal shelter. We all want to thank the participating businesses and folks who donated to this great cause. The biggest fundraisers were:
- Calavino's - $150
- Park Pet Supply - $133
- EA Animal Clinic - $118
- Gravity Pub - $75
- Trader's - $50
That money will help them to care for, and adopt out, the 100+ animals looking for a new home and continue their low cost shot and spay/neutering programs. Go to www.pawsatlanta.org for more info or to find your new best friend.
We're still collecting from the Burgess-Peterson First Friday in September so we'll let you know how many kids we are able to send to see the Nutcracker at the Fox in December.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
EABA, a 2009 East Atlanta Strut sponsor, has a booth at the Strut this year. We've invited all of our home based business owners to the table so they can introduce themselves to their neighbors. Make sure to stop by and visit the EABA booth at Strut. You'd be amazed at the various types and quality of service providers right here in our neighborhood. And if you're looking for something specific in the village be sure to check out http://www.eastatlantavillage.net/businesses.phtml
