Friends of East Atlanta Library Book Drive in Progress
|
For those of you who like to show your support of the East Atlanta Library by donating books for our book sale, you'll be pleased to know that the Friends' annual book drive is in full swing and will run through Saturday, September 12. We collect all categories and formats of books. We only ask that they be in good, used condition. We can not use books that are moldy, water-damaged, or buggy. And we do not collect magazines at this time. Your donations can be dropped at either of our two collection sites:
- East Atlanta Branch Library - 400 Flat Shoals Avenue, SE
- Village Hardware - 1231 Glenwood Avenue, SE
Once again, the sale will be held in conjunction with the East Atlanta Strut on September 19. Most books at the sale will be priced at 50 cents or $1, so be sure to drop by. The annual book sale is the Friends' major fundraiser each year. Proceeds from the sale are used to support the Library's programs and special needs. The Friends of East Atlanta Library is a 501(c), non-profit volunteer organization. Watch for more information about the sale and how you can help. Meanwhile, if you need more information or would like to volunteer to help, please call (404) 627-6019 or email joanstephens@bellsouth.net. Your donations and support will help make this year's book sale the best ever for the Friends of East Atlanta Library. |

Atlanta Charter Middle School Bike Rack Project
|
To encourage students to ride their bikes to school this
year at Atlanta Charter Middle School in Ormewood Park, the School is exploring
options for adding bike racks to the school grounds. One of the more
creative possibilities is to make a rack out of old bike frames that have been
welded together.
If you have an old bike laying around (in any
condition) that you could donate to this project, please contact ACMS parent
Steve Bayliss ( bayliss@visa-law.net).
