EACA Beautification - Clean-up Sunday! |
This month we'll work in the Village to clean up some of the tree wells along Flat Shoals (weed/mulch) to beautify the village for the revelers visiting our neighborhood after May 30th's Beer Festival.
The clean-up will take place on Sunday, May 17th from 9:00 - 12:00. We'll meet outside of Joe's at 8:45 and ask volunteers to bring hand trowels/gardening gloves if you have them. We'll provide trashbags and gloves for litter collection. If you've got Round-Up to spare/donate, or a sprayer we could use, that'd be great! Also, if you have a truck we can use for moving mulch, come on down!

East Atlanta Security Patrol News & Information |
We continue to experience a relatively low level of burglaries in East Atlanta compared to 2008. March 2009 burglaries were down 75% from March 2008.
We did see a small spike upward in late March and early April, but
those numbers have again declined in recent weeks. Car break-ins were
very high in March, but those have been declining as well, and we'll
keep working with APD to prioritize patrols in areas that are
experiencing the most problems.
We continue to believe that our current group of officers has
really made a big difference in reducing crime in East Atlanta. All
are Zone 6 officers, and they take knowledge from the Security Patrol
out onto their regular police shifts. We recently lost officer Thomas,
who was also one of our 610 beat officers, but are fortunate that
another great officer who was an original member of our Security Patrol
team in 2006 has come back to Zone 6 and can pick up her hours.
To learn more about the East Atlanta Security Patrol or to enroll, visit the EASP website ( http://patrol.eaca.net). The cost to join the patrol is $50 per quarter, with a 50% discount for longtime residents and those 65+. To qualify, you must have lived at the same address for 20 years or be over age 65. We also have a 20% discount for members of an APD-sanctioned Neighborhood Watch. Please contact us if you're interested in setting up a Neighborhood Watch on your street.
If you have additional questions, please direct them to securitypatrol@eaca.net, or call EACA Public Safety Chair Myron Polster at 404-429-8815. |
