Alberta Media Awards
 The Writers Guild of Alberta invites submissions of new Alberta books to the 2012 Alberta Literary Awards until December 31. Prizes of $1500 will be awarded for books published in 2011 at a gala event in the summer of 2012. |

Alberta Media Personality Amber Bowerman
 Amber Webb-Bowerman, a promising journalist in Calgary, was killed in a multiple murder-suicide by her landlord in May 27, 2008. She obviously made a big impression in her too short life. Her fans created the Amber Bowerman Memorial Foundation. See more about Amber Bowerman |

Alberta Television Spotlight: Global TV Edmonton
Global TV Edmonton produces a total of 45 hours of local newscasts weekly; 7 hours of news every weekday, 5 hours on weekends (7 to 10am on Saturday and 8 to 10am on Sunday), an hour-long newscast at 6 p.m. and half-hour newscast at 11 pm on Saturday and Sunday nights.

 CFFR operates in an all-news format in Calgary. Branded 660 News, it is touted as the only local all news radio station in Calgary. The branding is similar to that used by Rogers all-news or news-talk stations across Canada. The all news station in Edmonton is CHQT/iNews 880 a Corus station. |
