We are pleased to invite you to the Piece by Piece 2012 Annual Meeting on Thursday, August 30 with keynote speaker Maurice Jones, Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The meeting will be held from 8:45 a.m. to 12:00 noon at The Carter Center.  Our agenda for the morning will include:

 

-Foreclosure Response at the Local Level - moderated panel discussion to include top elected officials from the Metro area; 

 

-Responsible Private Sector Investment in High-Foreclosure Neighborhoods - how private-sector investment is helping to repopulate vacant neighborhoods in the region;

 

-Remarks from Maurice Jones, Deputy Secretary of HUD;

Deputy Secretary Jones was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on March 29, 2012, and was sworn in as Deputy Secretary for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development on April 18, 2012. As the second most senior official at HUD, Jones manages the Department's day-to-day operations, the annual operating budget, and the agency's 8,900 employees. FULL BIO
